kid too skinny
my son (6) just had his yearly checkup and hes in the 91th percentile for height but 35th percentile for weight and <1 percentile for BMI 😥
his dad had the same issue but way worse as a kid (his mom is a severe almond mom) and he had to be tested for a genetic disorder. i've also been on the thin side most of my life.
he's not a picky eater! he loves all kinds of food, smoothies, crab, mussels, oysters, he's such an adventurous eater! the only thing is i do limit snacks bc i've found that if he eats too much snacks then he won't eat his main meal (especially dinner). he's also complained of not having enough time at school to eat all his lunch.
he gets free breakfast at school but i make him scrambled eggs with cheese every morning so he's been getting two breakfasts, do you think that could be making him not hungry at lunch? the school breakfast is always something sugary like powdered donuts or cinnabons so i don't want to stop feeding him scrambled eggs, he needs something nutritious.
i'm going to start putting half an avocado in his smoothies ( he gets one after school which are usually lentils, berries, spinach, and bananas) and putting whole milk yogurt in his lunches every day. do you all have any other ideas? he's having a checkup in 3 months and they want him to gain 4 pounds by then
