Is it just me or is the discussion of non-mandarin Chinese languages on r/Chineselanguage always very unwelcomed?

Despite the description saying on r/Chineselanguage all Chinese languages/dialects are welcomed, anytime I see a post about a non-mandarin language it either gets downvoted, ignored, or met with passive aggression.
