BV Medication Symptoms is this normal?

Hi! Any help would be greatly appreciated! I am currently day 5 on a 7 day course of antibiotics to clear my BV. I had BV about 2 months ago- unfortunately I got it back last week after being on Mounjaro for a couple weeks for my type 1 diabetes (it can really mess up your gut biome)
However I am still having watery type discharge and the smell isn’t as bad as pre antibiotics but there’s a slight odor. (Pre antibiotics discharge was more brown and grey) Also a couple instances where I pee and it feels like little plips (I am also an awful drinker so maybe I’m not hydrated enough?) Is my body still clearing the infection or am I fked?

Also I am taking prebiotics (happy v), d mannose to help prevent any utis, and lauricidin (monolaurin supplement) which is supposed to support healthy gut bacteria and maintain healthy levels of yeast. (Yes I feel like I’m taking the whole pharmacy along with my insulin for my diabetes and mounjaro LOL)

Advice much needed and appreciated!!

Type 1 Diabetes Weight Gain and Mounjaro Results Thread

Hi all! I am F 28 been diabetic for 21 years (hey she's legal age to drink now!) and recently got on mounjaro 3 weeks ago. I wanted to make this thread to see any other type 1 diabetic on mounjaro and see their story and hopefully help each other on diabetic management/weight loss journeys!

To give some back story, I used to be the WORST diabetic. My A1cs were teetering in the 12 range for years. I had a Medtronic pump, but no CGMs and never checked my blood sugar for years. (How did I survive? I must have a guardian angel) When you're "young" you hear all of these crazy stories about how people who didn't take care of themselves get their limbs cut off and become blind. In my stupidity- "Im young and I dont take care of my diabetes and im fine." Oh how wrong I was. I have been into DKA twice in my life, which you think would be a wake up call- it wasn't. My true wakeup call happened last September when I was told my eyes were already in a stage of moderate retinopathy and if I continued this path, I would become blind. My doctor said we could never give me 20/20 eyesight again, but we could keep the blood vessels at bay with aggressive treatment. (For multiple months I had injections about once a month and had laser treatment. Good News I have responded really well and now only need injections once every 3 months-- albeit for the rest of my life but better than becoming blind eh?) I had myself a nice boohoo session and buckled up and decided to take control of my diabetes. I now have an omnipod and a CGM and now have a A1C of 7.7! Still have some work to do, but it has been the best my a1c has been in 10+ years.

Although my diabetic control has been the best its been, lets just say my weight and self esteem took a massive hit. I gained around 30+ pounds in 3-4 months. I am a woman that LOVES clothes. More so that one of the reasons I refused a CGM for so many years is because I didn't want it to ruin my outfits (I know.. so so dumb) I used to love wearing mini skirts and dresses, wear a lot of Y2K type clothing that now I dont even touch nor can I fit. My wardrobe has strictly become long skirts with baggy sweaters or just anything that you can't tell what my body's shape is anymore.

I decided to lock in weight wise and started eating healthier, got a Fitbit to track my steps- all the weight loss hoopla everyone does. I tried for months and it felt like it didn't matter what I did- the scale just continued to go up. (It also doesn't help that you can eat well, exercise- your blood sugar crashes- time to eat 500+ calories worth of sugar so you dont die LOL)I was starting to become hopeless that I decided to finally turn to a GLP-1 after researching Mounjaro and Type 1 Diabetes on TikTok and Reddit (which I haven't found a ton on Reddit which is why im making this thread) I was reluctant at first to go on Mounjaro because of the bad rep GLPs have from people getting pancreatic cancer, to messed up stomach issues, nausea, vomiting- the works.

However, at least 3 weeks in- I wish I did it sooner. A situation that felt so volatile, now gives me hope. In my quest to weight loss, I gained knowledge that type 1 diabetics do not produce a hormone that signals to your brain that you're full until you're REALLY full so we have A LOT of food noise that isn't really our faults. I now feel like this is probably how normal people probably feel in regards to how they view food. The food noise has quieted down DRASTICALLY. Dont get it twisted I still LOVE food (which ive read a lot of people lose their joy of eating which was also a worrying side effect b/c wdym-- eating is one of the greatest joys of life) I just eat way less. I used to be able to eat a whole portion at a restaurant and now it's only 1/2- 1/4 depending on how long ago I took the shot etc. I will say for the day after my shot I do only eat clean ie smoothies, salads etc. because my 2nd shot I did yak when I ate chicken pad kra pao for dinner. Other side effects normally include a little nausea in the morning after my shot (I take it Thursday night to hopefully sleep off most of the negative side effects), on and off sulfur burbs (which I drastically reduce my intake of eggs, onions, dairy to avoid this), and some "bathroom issues" from the 1st and 2nd shots where I didn't quite trust a fart(lol) for a couple days. Diabetes wise I decreased my basal from 1.1 an hour to 0.85 and only need about 100 units for 3 days when I used to need about 170. My blood sugars used to be in the 50% range of normal and have increased to 70%. I will say though, it has been a learning curve in the sense when your blood sugars drop they DROP. The other day I took a walk starting at 190 put it on activity mode within 30 minutes I dropped to LO.

My starting weight was 172 and 3 weeks in I am now 168 and still have a lot more to lose (I am 5'2 and aiming for around 125-130) I know it isn't crazy weight loss like some of these other stories you hear, but I feel so much better. Just seeing the scale drop instead of rise has started to heal something in me. Mounjaro is not a magic pill and you need to continue showing up for yourself every day and Im honestly still working out the kinks for it. I still continue to eat in a caloric deficit and walk 10k-15k steps a day. I also do not plan to increase my dosage anytime soon. I am at the starting dosage of 2.5 and am happy with the results. I only want to use mounjaro as a helping tool to get me on the right track. I do not want to heavily rely on its effects.

Id love to hear any other type 1 diabetics who have used a GLP-1 their story/current journey or any tips/tricks anyone has! Thanks for reading my post if you've made it this far :)
