Hi everyone,

I’ve been using Cabtreo since March 12, 2026, so it’s been a little over 7 weeks now, and this is what my skin currently looks like. Honestly, I feel absolutely emotionally exhausted at this point. I genuinely cannot imagine that I’m still purging this far in. My routine is extremely simple:

Morning:
- Cetaphil cleanser
- Cetaphil moisturizer
- La Roche-Posay sunscreen

Night:
- Cabtreo every other night
- Cetaphil cleanser
- Cetaphil moisturizer
- On non-Cabtreo nights, I only use the cleanser and moisturizer.

For context, I completed a full Accutane course from 2022–2023, and it cleared my skin completely. Watching this relapse happen has been incredibly discouraging, and I’m strongly considering going back on a low-dose Accutane treatment because I’m struggling mentally with how persistent this has been.

Has anyone here used Cabtreo long enough to see a major turnaround after the 2-month mark? Should I try to stick it out to the full 3 months like my dermatologist recommended, or does this seem like a sign that it may not be working for me?

Would really appreciate hearing other people’s experiences because I’m feeling pretty defeated right now.

Hi, everyone,

I’ve been using Cabtreo since March 12th after starting to experience acne flare-ups again, and honestly, I’m feeling really discouraged right now. I completed a full course of Accutane in 2023 (over the span of about a year), and it cleared my skin beautifully. For a long time, I finally felt confident and comfortable in my skin again.

Now it feels like I’m slowly watching all of that progress disappear, and it’s been emotionally exhausting.

I know topical treatments can take time, but I’m not seeing significant improvement yet with Cabtreo, and I’m starting to wonder if it’s worth sticking out the full 3 months or go back on a low dose Accutane treatment. Has anyone here used Cabtreo and eventually seen good results after a slow start? Did things get worse before they got better?

Lately, I’ve found myself isolating a bit because I genuinely don’t feel like engaging with the world while my skin is flaring like this. I know that probably sounds dramatic, but I figured people here might understand the emotional side of acne too.

Would really appreciate hearing about anyone’s experience with Cabtreo especially if you used it after Accutane.

Hi everyone,

I’m curious to hear about other people’s experiences taking low-dose Accutane, specifically 10 mg. I previously completed a full course of Accutane in 2023, starting at 10 mg and gradually increasing to 40 mg over time. Overall, I tolerated it very well and honestly didn’t experience many side effects during that course.

I’m now restarting Accutane at a low dose of 10 mg in hopes of minimizing side effects and reducing the likelihood of a major purge. While researching, I came across some information mentioning rare hearing-related side effects such as tinnitus or hearing loss, and it has made me a bit anxious.

Has anyone here experienced any hearing-related side effects while taking Accutane, especially at a lower dose like 10 mg? If so, did the symptoms resolve after stopping or lowering the medication?

I’d also really appreciate hearing from anyone who is already hard of hearing or has preexisting hearing issues did Accutane affect your hearing in any noticeable way?

I know these side effects are considered rare, but I’d love to hear real experiences from others. Thanks in advance!
