Vandaag bij een expo heb ik een dode degenkrab gekocht. De herkomst van deze is uit de Filippijnen, maar daarnaast weet ik er niks van. Ik heb er geen vergunning of certificaat bij gekregen.

Ik heb dus, buiten de sticker op het zakje waar die in zit, geen bewijs van herkomst of leeftijd. Toch maak ik mij zorgen dat ik hiermee in de problemen zou kunnen komen. Is er iets dat ik kan doen om het legaal te maken als het dat nu niet is?

Zo niet, zou het opgeven van het object aan een institutie zoals Naturalis het probleem ook oplossen?

I’m a dutch citizen living in the Netherlands. Today I purchased a dead horseshoe crab at a mineral con, and I’ve been trying to find out if I need to get a permit or something to own it.

The only information I have on its provenance is that it’s from the Philippines. I wasn’t given a permit or a certificate of how or when the item was attained.

I tried looking it up myself but found information to be confusing. I hope this is the right sub for this question, and if it’s not I hope I can be pointed in the right direction.
