[M19][F19] My gf pretended to sleep and accidentally exposed herself the next morning 😭

My gf texted me “goodnight” around 11pm yesterday and disappeared after that. We had an 8am movie date today so I assumed she slept early.

This morning she kept acting super sleepy and said she “just woke up at 7:30.”

While we were waiting for the movie I happened to notice her phone widget from this doomscroll tracking app she downloaded recently after seeing people talk about it online.

800 scrolls.

Between 11pm and 7:30am.

EIGHT. HUNDRED.

Now I’m sitting there trying to understand whether:

- she stayed up all night scrolling

- woke up at 4am and entered goblin mode

- or just lied because she didn’t wanna talk to me 😭

The funniest part is she still kept rubbing her eyes and acting exhausted like she survived a war.

Technology ruined believable lying.

Am I overthinking this or was she obviously awake the whole time?

Spent months treating my symptoms medically with barely any change.

Then out of desperation I started doing old occult protection/cleansing rituals my grandmother used to talk about.

Call it placebo, coincidence, nervous system regulation, whatever.

But the nightmares stopped first.

Then the constant panic.

Then even some physical symptoms reduced.

We seriously underestimate what belief, ritual, repetition, and the subconscious can do to the body.

I didn’t realize how much doomscrolling was worsening my mental health until I tracked it

I used to scroll whenever I felt low because it distracted me for a while.

But seeing hours of my life disappear into content I can’t even remember made me realize it wasn’t helping me feel better — it was just numbing me temporarily.

I started tracking my scrolling habits and it honestly changed how I use my phone

I used to open apps without even realizing it.

Just reflex scrolling anytime my brain got slightly bored.

After seeing my actual usage stats, I slowly started cutting down unnecessary screen time and my mind feels way less cluttered now.

Not more “productive” in a hustle culture way.

Just calmer.

It’s weird how much mental energy disappears into tiny mindless scroll sessions you barely even remember later.

My scrolling addiction got so bad I accidentally built an app to fight it

This sounds fake but I’m dead serious 😭

A few months ago I checked my screen time and realized I was spending 7–9 HOURS a day scrolling.

Not even doing anything meaningful. Just:

• “One quick reel”

• Random Reddit rabbit holes

• Refreshing Instagram for no reason

• Opening apps without even thinking

The scary part wasn’t the time.

It was realizing my brain started scrolling automatically whenever life became even slightly uncomfortable.

Studying? Scroll.

Bored? Scroll.

Sad? Scroll.

Anxious? Scroll.

Wake up? Scroll.

Before sleep? Scroll till 3am.

One day I got so frustrated I started tracking my own behavior manually just to see how bad it actually was.

That turned into random UI sketches.

Then prototypes.

Then a real app.

And somehow… I actually published it on the Play Store 😭

The app basically makes you more conscious of your scrolling habits instead of just yelling “reduce screen time” like every productivity app.

Weirdly enough, building it reduced my addiction more than any motivational video ever did.

Because I finally stopped treating myself as “lazy” and started understanding how automatic the habit really was.

Kinda crazy how the thing ruining my focus also ended up teaching me how my own brain works.

Nobody warns you about the saddest part of growing up

I think one of the saddest parts about growing up is realizing nobody really notices your “last time” doing something.

The last time your parents picked you up.

The last time you played outside with childhood friends.

The last normal conversation before someone changed forever.

The last night everyone in your house slept under the same roof.

Most of it ends quietly.

No music. No warning. No dramatic goodbye.

Just another random Tuesday that your brain didn’t realize would become a memory you’d spend years trying to revisit.

And honestly… I think that’s what makes life feel so heavy sometimes.

My boyfriend moved out for college a few months ago and I genuinely feel like I lost him slowly after that

At first he still called a lot, updated me, acted normal. Then it became dry replies, late texts, “busy” all the time, less affection, less effort. Recently I found out he’s gotten really close to another girl there and now I can’t even tell if I’m overthinking or just refusing to accept what’s obvious.

What hurts most is how someone can go from making you feel emotionally safe to making you feel like you’re bothering them.

Has anyone else gone through this after long distance started?

Does anyone else feel like self-improvement becomes isolating after a certain point?

You stop enjoying constant scrolling, meaningless conversations, cheap dopamine, and wasting entire days doing nothing. But at the same time, becoming more disciplined almost makes you feel disconnected from people around you.

How do you balance becoming better without turning into someone emotionally distant or obsessed with productivity?

Why does modern dating feel like both genders are optimizing for completely different things?

A lot of men seem to want peace, loyalty, and admiration.

A lot of women seem to want emotional depth, ambition, and excitement.

But modern culture pushes both to prioritize independence, options, ego protection, and “never settle.”

So are people actually incompatible now… or just too guarded and overstimulated to build real connection?
