Can you tell me what you all think of the following message sent from my father?
"Nigel - You are a grown man. You have to stop living in the past and take action to erase your victim hood mindset before it becomes self-fulling. You had a great start in life, dont let it go to waste.
Mental illness is nothing to be ashamed of and there are many sources of it. I wasn't the perfect father but by no definition were you abused much less traumatized by me. And I will not apologize for having high expectations of you nor helping you realize your potential. Thats what parents do.
I will not be surprised when the above is twisted out of context to become "evidence"of my "abuse, neglect, insensitivity and lack of accountability." At least I'm being honest"
