I’m thinking of buying a MacBook Air (m4 or m5, there’s already another post where I’m asking about which one I should get). I already have an iPad Pro m4 11 inch 2TB, in silver, and I also have the silver Magic Keyboard and the white case. My phone is a blue iPhone 15 pro. Which of the 4 colors of the mac should I get? I immediately crossed off starlight, and now I’m between the other 3. I think the black is the most beautiful, but I’m scared it’s gonna look awful with the white iPad. Does anybody have this setup?

Long story short before analysing the whole story:

Im thinking of buying a MacBook Air m5 13 in 512 gb for 1250 euros, but currently there is an offer for m4 mac air 13 inch 512 gb 1000 euros, and I’m thinking which is the best option. Im leaning towards the M4. My use will be: browsing, YouTube, basic apps, light editing, file transfers,presentations, and generally programs I can’t run on my iPad Pro m4 2TB. I need my mac to last 5+ years. Will the m4 be enough for this? I also have an iPhone 15 pro ( so I have the apple ecosystem of iPhone and iPad). I am on a budget, but I’m thinking: should I wait some time to buy the m5 for 1250? But it will still be some extra money and wait… i don’t know.

Now the long story

I have an ASUS laptop, but it’s really slow now and I can’t get my job done. So I thought I need a replacement. I concluded that a mac would be better because it would work better with my existing apple ecosystem (since I will really need the airdrop feature).

I thought of buying the Neo, but i concluded that it does not reallly fit my needs. I need a Mac that will last 5+ years. The mac neo wont really do that. Plus it’s not that good in general.

So i started searching for MacBooks and now i am between buying the m4 and m5 MacBook Air. My problem is the price and specs. Is the 250 euros extra worth the small performance upgrade? Will i notice the difference? Will the m5 last that much longer for it to be worth the extra 1250 euros? Those are the questions.

The sale is up until Friday, thus i only have 2 days to think.
