How can one afford the expensive tuition fees of art college?

I am an international student. My family is not wealthy, but applying to an art university in the United States (majoring in illustration) has always been my dream!

However, the universities I want to apply to have very expensive tuition fees, which is a huge financial burden for me. I don’t know whether I should keep pursuing this dream.

Besides portfolio scholarships, are there any other ways to reduce tuition fees?

Or are there other ways to make the financial burden lighter?

Can international students also work on-campus?

Thank you for your reply 🙇🏻‍♂️🙇🏻‍♂️‼️

I am currently a 10th-grade student, and I am planning to study illustration in the United States. Pratt is one of my choices. However, I find the tuition a bit expensive for me, so I hope to reduce the cost by applying for scholarships.

Regarding loans, since I am from Taiwan, it is not possible to get a loan for studying a four-year undergraduate program abroad. Only graduate (master’s) students are eligible. Similarly, most government financial support is also limited to master’s programs.
