everytime i see a post thats like job recommendations for people with adhd its always something like construction or manual labor or just extremely active jobs. theres nothing wrong with those careers but i feel like the answers are usually more catered to hyperactive individuals. again like there’s nothing wrong with any of those kind of jobs but me personally i just don’t have the physical abilities to do smth like that. what kind of careers have you guys with inattentive adhd found fulfilling and compatible with adhd?

edit: if you guys don’t mind could you also mention how you got into that field and/or how you make a living from it if it’s something more niche or not typically thought of as profitable

i used to drive teaches crazy bc i always used to read books or draw in my sketchbook during class so a lot of my teachers made up this concept of book jail where they‘d just take away my books and sketchbooks when i’d come into class. it never worked though bc then id just draw on my schoolwork or the desk instead 😭

it always pissed me off bc it wasn’t like i was failing classes or distracting others so why did it matter what i was doing? in fact i was actually a very good student. but looking back i definitely see why they’d be bothered.

i was diagnosed through neuropsych testing and a bunch of questionnaire questions and on the neuropsych testing my results in stuff like working memory and processing speed were average to high but based off my answers to the questionnaire i had a lot of adhd symptoms. so i was wondering does that indicate that i might not actually have adhd or can the neuropsych testing be inaccurate at times?

i grew up in the gifted programs and ive always liked puzzles and challenges so paying attention during the testing wasn’t really a huge issue. i’m also a pretty competitive person so i feel like i wanted to do well on the tasks.

one of the tasks i didnt do as well on was the pressing the space on the computer when the x comes up bc i kept pressing too early or on the wrong letters.

so yeah just wondering how well these tests actually work to diagnose adhd bc sometimes i look at them and think well maybe i don’t actually have it if i did well on the tests. but they still diagnosed me i think based off my questionnaire answers so idk

i have code that runs a servo motor and another code that plays a melody that i modified from the tune code, how can i combine them so that the motor runs while the song is playing? i tried to just copy paste my code from one file to the other and combine them in the functions but it hasn’t been working. any help would really be appreciated!!
