My last girlfriend was 3-4 years ago. Talking to someone now who told me she thinks I am cute but I‘m scared I will accidentally screw things up due to being on the spectrum and also not having a job atm.

I really want a fulfilling relationship. And sex too, to be honest. Just to generally feel awesome about life and deeply wanted.

Time travel. Dinosaurs. Genetic Manipulations and or Cloning. Cyberpunk. Dystopias. Utopias. Virtual Reality. Aliens. AI. After awhile, I get sick of the same old tropes. What is new and exciting in the world of Sci-Fi?

Oh, and Space Travel. I forgot that one.

I‘ve read there is no „Genetic Dynasty“ in the Foundation books. Watching the show, it is a major reason why I found Foundation interesting. Are the books good, in your opinion, without the dynastic clones?

I was really bummed b/c I was fascinated by the concept and it is what led me to want to start reading the series. Sorry if it makes me petty.

What happened to $1.99 and $2.99 older best-selling books? I used to find great deals all the time…

I remember getting great titles 5 or so years ago for low prices. Now, even twenty year old best-sellers, for the most part, are $9.99-14.99. I mostly see books I have never heard of before in the Deals section on Amazon. I don‘t get it.

I think this is where many beginners get confused: they will be able to hit notes, but poorly, so they assume they need to find another way to hit the note and waste years looking for a new way to do so instead of simply improving upon the poor notes

TLDR: You are correctly hitting to note. You just need to dial it in, no matter how bad it initially sounds. There is no mysterious, trick way to hit notes beautifully automatically.

To clarify, I mean I see many people using correct basic technique (lightening tone and whining/crying into highs) to do so and then attempting to reinvent the wheel by screaming and or straining in various manners b/c they believe they are singing high in the wrong way because it sounds horrible when they begin. No. You were on the right track and now you‘ve upset your potential future progress.

Nose is almost always stuffed up in Winter and beginning of Spring. How can I stop this from affecting my singing voice quality?

Any tips?

I have trouble understanding how there are two passagios…I only experience one break that I am aware of and that is from the 4th to 5th octave.

Am I just unaware of my first passagio? Do both involve a break or just the second?

Why is balancing head and chest voice so hard? Why are vocal muscles difficult to coordinate well? Anatomically, what is going on exactly?

And how do you fix it? I‘m tired of the cracking and going high but with a poor quality/timbre.

Freya Casey‘s „Stop Practicing Mixed Voice“ Video Helped Me Immensely: Basically, Manage The Register Flips From Head To Chest Voice Well And You Will Be Able To Utilize Your Entire Range

She explains how to do so. It involves managing laryngeal tilt in a precise manner. You don‘t always fully tilt. You partially tilt at times and that is what creates mix.

Here‘s to making all of your transitions seamless!

Some Notes on Singing

1.) People often won‘t tell you if they think you are a bad or average singer…but they will absolutely let you know if they think you sound great…take a „good job“ with a grain of salt…take massive applause and lots of people saying „holy shit“ with dropped jaws at face value (if it happens every time you sing a certain song and in different venues…also, they can‘t all be drunk lol)

2.) Don‘t throw the baby out with the bathwater-make slight alterations to your natural voice over time, retaining what works for you (you must have a very good ear and pay very close attention to detail to know what works)…too many people take bad advice and attempt to start from scratch, losing or diminishing powerful innate abilities

3.) Master your current range…then slowly incorporate brief highs over time into songs…4th octave highs are great and available to almost everyone relatively naturally…if starting from a naturally low voice, it will take more time to learn to sing high in a more homogenous timbre but it will happen over time

4.) DO NOT listen to online critiques and take them too seriously…people online can be cruel, thoughtless, jealous, and clueless…they are especially bad at guessing a person‘s „vocal type“… I‘ve been called a tenor, a baritenor, a baritone, and a bass-baritone all in the same month…unless you sing Opera, don‘t focus on it b/c it is irrelevant…what matters is singing well in your full range

5.) If told, „you shouldn‘t touch such and such song“ (Whitney, Prince, Lambert, Mercury, etc) it is due to the insecurity of the person speaking…maybe don‘t sing the song publicly at first but work on it a bit at home for a few months or years (yes, for some of us it does take years) and see what happens…no one wakes up one day and becomes a star…it takes a lot of time and effort

6.) I realize many people have no concept of exactly how high or low they are singing…find a method of viewing your pitches while singing to get the feedback you need to find out how to get where you need to go

7.) Create a notebook containing stats/facts/strengths and weaknesses of your voice…the more you know about the unique properties of your voice, the better able you‘ll be to use your instrument well…even take notes on what you find works for you in specific songs…it will transfer to other songs in many cases…you can start building the way you sing your songs around what you know about your vocal skillset

8.) Always record and listen to your voice…otherwise, you‘ll never know what others are hearing when you sing…what you hear in your head isn‘t what comes out into the world

9.) Don‘t focus on hitting every single note perfectly…overkill destroys passion…just develop a good feel for singing over time and then most notes should come naturally and then you can focus on only those rare hard to master notes
