Can I marry this girl based on this family relation?
Hi everyone,
I need help understanding if this relation would be considered okay for marriage in Hindu/Indian family terms.
Here is the relation:
Girl’s side: 24F gf→ her dad → his mother → her elder brother → his granddaughter is married to XZY.
My side: My stepdad → his mother → her sister → her son is XYZ.
So basically, XYZ is my stepdad’s cousin, and G’s distant cousin is married to XYZ.
From what I understand, Gf and are not directly blood-related. The connection seems to be through marriage and also through my stepdad’s side.
Would this be considered a prohibited relation under Hindu marriage customs or Indian family relations? Is this okay from a Hindu marriage perspective, or could there be issues with sapinda/gotra/community rules? Any guidance would help. Thanks.
TL;DR:
My girlfriend’s distant cousin is married to Anurag. Anurag is my stepdad’s cousin through his mother’s side. So our only connection seems to be through marriage and my step-family, not blood. Is this okay for Hindu/Indian marriage rules?
