Terrible nausea

Hi all. I’m 47 and still have my monthly. While it used to be like clock work and 28 days, for the past year it’s very early, late, and often shorter than 5 days. Sometimes cramps like I’m a teen again. My doc says she doesn’t think I’m peri- since I still have my cycle- but can’t be sure.

I figured I’d come here because I’ve been checked by my doc, GI, and GYN about these episodes of middle of the night nausea. Sorry for the long post. Just looking for anyone who’s experienced anything similar.

This started about 6 months ago roughly. I’ve been dealing with my blood pressure since my last baby almost 4 years ago and post partum preeclampsia. It’s been a roller coaster with different meds, too high, too low- it’s been horrible. But for past 6 months what started as once a week is now every night when I wake up nauseated and sometimes stomach cramping. My heart racing and then I started feeling a burning/heat sensation in my face, arms, neck, areas. I take deep breaths to try to stay calm.

I’ve had my heart check, endoscopy, colonoscopy, ab ultrasound, bloodwork- and all normal. My doc wants me to try an anxiety med and I’ve told her this isn’t something I’m making up. It’s not in my head. But I don’t know anyone else dealing with this similar. I don’t have reflux, no sleep apnea… overall healthy.

Last night was the worst. I’ve been up

Since midnight and it happened over and over. Roughly 5 times last night. No one seems to know what’s going on or why.

I do take BP meds and I’ve argued maybe that’s it. But then I tried skipping it a day or so and it still happened. I’m frustrated here.

Stomach nausea or what?

I take 2.5 and it does nothing for my BP. I can take 3.75 which is just another half and the fatigue in the morning is insane. I hate this medicine but it’s been the only one that helps. what can I do to combat the fatigue, especially early in the morning? the adrenaline dump becomes fatigue once I’m up and moving around. It’s insane. It lasts about an hour.

Hi all. I’m just looking for similar experiences. For the past several months (things have gotten progressively worse) I’ve waking up middle of night nauseas, sometimes pain in abdomen, heart racing few minutes later, and face/neck flushed. It impacts my blood pressure, which is fine before bed- I do take medicine. I’ve had endoscopy, blood work, other labs, colonoscopy a year ago, etc and all fine. I’ve seen my regular doc, cardiologist, GI specialist and no one seems to know why. I had a sleep done done. And all normal. This started maybe twice a night until for the two months nightly. I’ve been in tears. I’ve lost 10 pounds and sometimes don’t have an appetite. When I do eat a good meal during the day it’s like the weight doesn’t stick. I’m 47 142 pounds, no health issues other than BP fluctuates and trying to manage it better because we thought maybe it’s the meds. I don’t know what’s going on. And it’s not reflux.

▲ 2 r/PVCs

Doctor wants me to try this. he’s a electrophysist. saw him for PVCs which are benign. Never heard of it. 47F tried losartan and amlodipine with a slew of side effects. BP mostly effected at wake up- losartan usually helps during daytime. Nighttime probably driven by cortisol and Adrenaline surges. Resting Hr in 60a during day and 40s at night. No health issues but for past few months waking up every night with nausea or stomach pain and fast heart rate.

Im sensitive to meds and have tried metoprolol which caused terrible fatigue and propranolol raised BP.

Any experiences with this one?

I’m scared! 4 years pp and past 6 months I haven’t been able to get BP controlled anymore. I wake up middle of night nausea and heart racing. Doc thinking Bp too low or maybe it’s too high. Cardiologist write a prescription to my PC to do a 24 hour monitor because cardiologist doesn’t do them any longer but PC doesn’t do them as well. Seems she can’t find anyone who does. Last night woke up at 3 am Bp 150/102 (I tried calming myself as much as I could and thought I was doing well breathing). Went to bed absolutely fine with last Bp check at 7pm 125/84…took meds and nothing.

I’ve tried amlodipine, losartan, Labeterol, propranolol, mixed, this one and that one and either they’re too strung together or nothing works alone. For months I’ve been like this. Since late October. Some days fine, but most days wake up elevated like 140/89….And I don’t know what else to do. I’ve seen a GI who believes it’s not GI related after (abdominal u/s and endoscopy) had sleep study- no apnea, heart monitor, echo, all trying to determine why it elevated at night. Blood work, thyroid…just about it all. I don’t know why it peaks at night instead of dipping like most people. I’ve cried for months feeling frustrated and depleted cause I don’t know what else to do and no one seems to no either.
