Big chop today (6 inches)! I am not used to having short hair again but it is going to be so much easier to maintain.

I havent gotten a hair cut since three odd years. Figured it was time for a cut with my masters graduation coming up. Cut off around ~6 inches w/having layers and some longer bangs.

I hope this will be easier to manage as my hair tens to be wavy and sometimes quite curly. This leads to it being tangled and frizzled easily.

So happy with it!

Is it rude if I e-mail a new salon (after booking) to give info on my hair and what I am looking for?

Hello, all! I have a quick, albeit, dumb question. I am going to a new salon to get my hair cut in preparation for my graduate school graduation. I have held off on cutting my hair as I like it decently long (dried falls to mid lower back). In the past, I have fully bleached and colored it (2021 or 2022), and since then, I haven't gotten too many cuts.

With having hair that is quite thick and on that wavy-curly spectrum, I figured I would e-mail the salon and ask some questions about preparation (what I need to do prior to entering in terms of washing my hair, brushing it, etc.) as well as telling them about my overall hair type and what I am looking for in the cut. I provided pictures of my current hair type + length. I then provided what I am looking to do (cut off 4 - 7 in -- that will be determined in person) with some examples / inspo.

However, now that I am thinking about it, I am worried I did too much and maybe was inconsiderate about e-mailing them. Was this a rude thing to do or am I overthinking it?

TYIA!!
