I asked barber for a fade haircut. How bad is it?

First time asking for a fade haircut. In front looks okay, but in the back.. I saw red flags when he didn't give me mirror to show the back of my head. But maybe this is trendy and I'm too old. What do you think? And if it's badly done, should I say something or let it grow? Barber was super nice and friendly, but I paid for it...

Despite bringing photos three times now I’ve been given the wrong bob. What can I say to get what I want?

The first two images are of Rei Kawakubo a Japanese fashion designer. I want this very bluntly thick, unlayered, unthinned bob. I know it isn’t flattering and I’m fine with that. I’m a painter and want something a bit anti beauty on purpose. Three times now I have gone to different people asking for this bob which they said they can do And each time i was given a stacked church lady bob, had to grow it back out and try again.

I have very thick hair and people always thin it but I want that thickness to make this wedge shape with product not a rounded stacked bob.

What can I do to get what I want? Right now I am about two months out from trying again and would really like to have my bases covered when I make my appointment.

TLDR; I want the haircut in the first two photos. I keep getting the haircut the third even with photo references. what do?

Still trying to get my hair to match my roots

I’m still trying to get my hair to match my roots. I went ahead and gave it one wash with the purple shampoo per recommendation on here. It is a little lighter. Definitely still feeling so hopeless and unconfident about my hair. I just want it all the be the same color as my gray/natural roots.

Any advice on my hair?

Any advice on starting a hair routine. Been told my hair is 2c-3a but have had some friends make fun of me saying I have no curls. I don't have any products and I use garnier shampoo and conditioner. I detangle with conditioner in and air dry my hair. I do a lot of slick back types of hairstyles using shockwaves.

I got my dad's curly hair and my mom's hair has slight waves so I have a couple of almost straight chunks and a couple of curls with bad shrinkage.

Recently got layers.

Any advice on how I can get more definition and less frizz? Does anyone know my curl pattern?

How to make hair look like That again?

I recently got a haircut and left the salon looking like the first picture, but after a few days my hair looks like the second. It’s less textured and looks more… medieval than I really want. Any tips on how to get it to look more like it did at first? Thank you!

How much to tip on $700 service?

I’m getting my hair bleached tomorrow and my current hair colour is a mix of virgin hair, and grown out bleached and semi permanent dyed hair. I had a consultation w my hair stylist and she told me it would likely be a 7+ hour appointment and would cost approximately $700CAD ($508 USD). How much do I tip on a service this price???

AITA: Quoted $265 for cut and highlights, then charged $415

I went to a new stylist. I got a consultation first. She said it would be $265, plus $20 for any additional bowls of color.

I then go and when I go to check out, she tells me it's $415! She neglected to mention to me at the consult it would be 5 or 6 additional bowls plus a $30 toner. She didn't say anything during the consult about how many bowls of color she might expect to use, and when I've got my hair done previously they only got 1 or 2 extra bowls of color.

Am I right to be upset? Is it normal to use 5 or 6 extra bowls of color for a partial highlight? Should she have told me big picture costs at the consult?

I was splurging for what I expected to be $280-300. I wouldn't have booked with her if she told me $400

Hair shorter on the back than anywhere else?

As the title says, the hair on the back of my head is far shorter than anywhere else on my head 😭 It used to be much longer and you could see it visibly hang lower than the sides/front. I only caught on to this recently so I honestly have no clue how many months it took to get like this but I started to feel the back of my neck exposed and when I’d touch it, I can definitely feel it just feeling barren back there. This photo isn’t the best example since it was super windy today but hopefully it’s enough. For comparison, when fully stretched the hair on my sides are nearly 2 feet long, whereas the hair on the back seem to be around 8 inches.

Is there any explanation for this? my hair is pretty healthy and I’ve seen no signs of balding.

This is not old hair strands

Does anyone know why my hair grow like this? Technically, it’s the end of hair but they are new hair growth. All were cut from very short lengths from scalp.

Hair type is 2b and 3b but this is unusual because i know a lot of people have this problem regardless hair type. But i always see them at a very long hair strands, which is normal.

I have a feeling it’s scalp problem but im not sure what’s causing it.

They are usually very coarse, wrinkly, and some of them is very textured like in 2nd and 3rd picture. Like you can feel bumpy texture when you run through your finger.

Details:

  1. I use anti dandruff shampoo from “Kundall”, elseve conditioner

  2. Serum and oil, rarely curling products

  3. Alternate between air dry and hair dryer

If anyone has any knowledge please share and what can i do to ensure healthy hair growth. Thanks!

Natural or dark brown?

I’ve been thinking of getting my hair darker or just changing its colour. Is my natural better? Or is dark brown a good call? I like both but not sure if I should change

What do you think?

Asked for modern flow and got this. I hate it. What can I do to change it? Looks like an old woman’s cut to me.

Butterfly Cut Looks More Like a Mullet. Can This Be Fixed??😭

I did not know it could end up just looking like a mullet and it looks so horrible. The cut makes me look masculine. Any advice or suggestions for what to request from a salon to fix this and make the cut more soft and feminine?
