I like to take hot showers, and my Dexcom will always read falsely higher after my shower. (When I fingerstick, my blood sugar is consistent with pre-shower so I know it's a Dexcom thing and not my actual blood sugar.)

I've been using the Mobi for about 3 weeks. Before I shower, I stop insulin and charge the pump. My issue is the past 2 days CIQ is giving me a correction as soon as I reconnect and restart my insulin after my shower. I'm sure it's seeing the false spike and responding to that.

I haven't changed my routine so I'm unsure why this recently started. (Oh, but now that I'm typing this I realized I recently updated my pump software ... so maybe that is the cause?)

And any suggestions on how to handle this? Do I simply keep pump disconnected until my Dexcom readings normalize? That means I need to be disconnected about 30 minutes ... not sure if that's a big deal?

I asked this question in a comment on other T1D group but I'm still confused...

What is the impact of lows long term? I recently started on a pump and the trainer told me lows can lead to strokes? (I know T1Ds are more at risk for cardiovascular issues, but I thought it was the highs, not the lows?)

And I would would assume the type of low matters? Severe hypogymcemia is one on thing, but is it bad to be in the 60s for a bit of time? Or even the 50s?

I know lows should be avoided when possible, but as someone newly diagnosed this is a lot to manage. I'm trying to give the right “weight” to things so I am not in constant freak out mode :)
