Oily Girl Dream Product- Natasha Denona Hy Glam Setting Powder

I haven't really seen anyone talking about this, so I just wanted to share a little review after using it the past three days, it is shockingly good for oily skin. Photo is taken 6 hours after application with no blotting.

I haven't been excited about new makeup releases in awhile, but I love Natasha Denona complexion products. So when I saw there was a new loose setting powder that waterproof I was intrigued, waterproof/hydrophobic powder is not something I have seen before, and claimed to be oil controlling and blurring. I took a chance on it because I have never like a talc-free powder before (looking at you Laura Mercier Ultra-Blur)

I thought by the time I reached my mid thirties I wouldn't still be struggling with super oily skin, but I have come to terms with it. I have tried a ton of powders over the years- Decorte, Givenchy, Innisfree No Sebum, One Size, MUFE, Jung Saem Mool, Nars, more Korean "oil control" ones that I can't remember. I've mostly stuck with the OG Laura Mercier powder and it's good, but I end up using blotting sheets 3-4 times a day. Setting sprays are a whole other story but while they keep my makeup intact nothing has ever reduced the oil noticeably. I don't usually have issues with my makeup breaking down or disappearing, it just gets really oily and shiny where I can feel it on my face and have to remove it.

So I ordered this new ND powder the day it came out, applied it with the little puff it comes with, it is very smoothing, which I was impressed with, and was hopeful but skeptical on the oil control claims. It also makes the skin feel incredibly soft and smooth. I'm so used to blotting early afternoon at work it's kind of a reflex, I pulled out the sheet and pressed it to my face, there was almost nothing on it, I was honestly surprised. I looked in the car mirror when I got off work 4 hours later and there's just like a glow, it's not shiny.

I feel like I'm way too excited but this hasn't happened to me in over two decades, it just works and I don't have anyone else to tell it to, so I hope this is helpful to someone else. I feel like there's some exciting new makeup technologies out there, foundations are getting so much better as well it's exciting to see a genuinely unique powder. I'm also super interested in the new One Size Blotting spray.

Sorry this ended up a little long but I have been disappointed with so many things marketed as oil control over the years, skincare and makeup, it's shocking when something actually works.

For Those in the US Freaking About the Olive Young Global to US Situation- Try Yami

I figured I would just make a post about this because I've seen a lot of panic about getting Korean/Asian formula sunscreens now that OY is only going to be shipping out the US and will likely only carry the FDA approved filter sunscreens that suck. Check out Yami!

They don't have as wide a variety maybe but they have all the popular ones and a huge selection of Japanese ones as well, and they ship from US warehouses (look on the listing or seach by Fullfilled by Yami, it will always say where it's shipping from, there are some international 3rd party sellers for some things). Shipping is super fast like 2-3 days for me on average and there's no tariffs. Prices are usually lower than OY and they have great sales.

I have no affiliation, I've just been a big fan for a long time and always had a great experience, they carry so much beyond just beauty it is a massive Asian goods marketplace. They just don't pay influencers like OY, Yesstyle and Stylevanna so I hardly ever see it mentioned on these subs. I've heard good things about iHerb too but haven't tried it myself.

This is kind of a weird one, and kind of an obscure product, but I'm hoping someone will know what I'm talking about.

I am obsessed with the way this body oil smells and unfortunately it's been discontinued, it's spicy and sexy. I'm not the best at defining scents and generally like gourmand or woody scents, I don't even usually like florals and it seems to be mostly floral essential oils, maybe it's the ylang ylang and frankincense? I would be so grateful for any recommendations, I'll add the description and ingredient list if it brings anything to mind.
