i’m getting an early MOT tomorrow morning, with my old (passed, valid) one expiring on 21/05. i’ve been reading online and seen lots of conflicting information; if it fails for a major fault (not dangerous) will my old MOT still be valid, meaning i can can still drive my car? is there any guidance posted by the government on this?
sorry if this has been asked a lot, im a new driver and this is my first time getting a MOT done

(edit - for clarity)

i passed!!! third attempt - thank you everyone on here for all the advice, i felt like i was never going to do it! i honestly thought id failed, the response to traffic lights one lowkey should have been a serious fault.
i even saw the examiner who conducted my last 2 tests back at the test centre and showed him my certificate, he was pretty happy to ‘never see me again’. 😂

has anyone else expected this feeling that they are never going to pass their driving test, and that it feels impossible? my third test is tomorrow morning, and despite doing around 15 hours with an instructor who said i didn’t need anymore lessons and well over 100 hours of practice in my own car, i feel like im going to fail. my driving when im practicing is fine (with a couple of small mistakes on occasion) but ive failed my last 2 tests for stupid mistakes which i’ve never done before; turning right at a crossroad when a car was approaching and making someone slow down on a roundabout.

how do i get rid of this feeling of doom towards my test? it genuinely just feels impossible like im never going to pass.
