Ok Hamilton, I’m new here. What is up with this culture of people walking down the street listening to music without headphones? I’ve never seen anything like it.

My sister says that I baby and am too soft on my 2.5 year old. I can sort of see what she’s saying as in I typically don’t force her to do things that she’s uncomfortable with unless it’s necessary. For example, I’ll pick her up if she wants, but if my back is hurting too much I require her to walk or sit in the stroller. Another example is that I’ll let her throw her diapers around cause she finds it fun, but the I’ll eventually get her to stop and pick them all up. I guess I think I’m softer or more easygoing but then assert boundaries when necessary. On the other hand, I can find my sister overly strict, forceful and nitpicking as a parent.
What would you say is being too soft as a parent of a toddler?
