Onboard etiquette: Who’s the jerk?
On a flight from SEA-PHX. Man gives up his FC seat to sit with wife and baby in premium. Baby (probably about 9 months) screams nonstop and they do zero to try to get it to stop. No turbulence so they have every right to get up, walk with the baby, etc. I comment quietly to my husband, who is a row ahead of me and across from them, “this is ridiculous.” Literally all I said. The dad overhears me and gets combative. WHAT DID YOU SAY? WHAT? I ignore him. Baby continues screaming as parents sip drinks. We finally land and I end up walking past them on the jetway as they’re waiting for their stroller and he says “you’re a terrible human being.” Mmm. I flew with my kids multiple times when they were babies. I didn’t make it everyone else’s problem. I understand that babies cry, but this was over the top.
