Trump states Vance will target blue states, including Maine

This morning the President confirmed he will ramp up targeting of Maine, again throwing baseless allegations of fraud while admitting this is political targeting.

Shenna Bellows needs to continue holding the line.

Everyone needs to ensure they’re voting this year. We need a Governor who will actually stand up to this chaos and we need a Senator who will actually check the executive power.

The regime knows we know this, which is why they will do everything within their power to bully and intimidate us.

PSA: Energy Citizens is a right-wing group trying to pass themselves off as a central or liberal group and txting people to get them to sign petitions

I received this txt a few days ago, and it encouraged me to sign a petition or similar to dissuade the state from allowing an increase in energy taxes.

I was about to put my John Hancock on it when I noticed that the form was using the old state flag in the background image. Major red flag for me!

So I googled it. They area right-leaning group that are attempting to lie to people about their motives, their bias is mixed to right-leaning, and their factual reporting is questionable at best!

Do your own research!

Teenager Dinner before 7th St Entry Show?

I’m taking a couple of teenagers to their first show at the Entry on Saturday night. Where nearby could we have a chill dinner that isn’t too meat heavy? I’d fallback on The Depot but that might be a little too bar-like for my crowd. Thanks for any advice!

Transportation to medical appointments, senior 65+ (help needed)

Hi all - I’m hoping to get some advice or recommendations from people who’ve dealt with this locally.

My mom is 65+ and lives in NE Minneapolis. She does not drive anymore due to health reasons. She’s on Medicare and Social Security (low income, but maybe not low enough to qualify for every assistance program).

She used to have transportation covered through UCare when she had state insurance and they would arrange free rides for her appointments (like with Helpful Hands Transportation or other similar companies). That worked really well, especially because it was a private car/van ride that would take her door-to-door (directly from home to the doctor office and back when she was done).

Now we’re struggling to find something similar, and it’s starting to become a real issue - she’s already had to cancel multiple medical appointments because she doesn’t have reliable transportation. She has very limited contacts in the area and the few people who could help aren’t available very often.

Main issues:

* She has difficulty with stairs and has minor balance issues sometimes, especially bad in winter weather. She has fallen twice in the last year, so we have to be very careful to avoid this.

* Public transit isn’t really realistic (getting on and off buses would be difficult and she would not be able to manage routes)

* Ideally needs door-to-door or escorted transport

* I’m trying to find something affordable or covered (or partially covered)

Questions:

* Are there programs in Minneapolis / Hennepin County that help seniors get rides to medical appointments?

* Does Medicare cover anything like this or only certain plans? I believe she has Parts A and B.

* Are there local services that people have had good experiences with?

* Any volunteer programs or senior services I should look into?

Would really appreciate any leads, especially from people who’ve navigated this in Minnesota. Thanks!

Vegetable garden planning

Anyone have a recommendation on where to go to find unique varieties of vegetable plants? Like, I want to go a bell pepper but not the same variety you see in every grocery store. My go to is friends of plant sale, but I’m not seeing what I’m looking for there. Any recommendations of any other stores to check out? TYIA

Best cozy cafes/bars for arts and crafts

I really want to find some places that are open late in the evening and are set up in a way thats conducive to hanging out for a while to knit/crochet/draw etc. Please share your favorite spots! I have found several coffee/tea shops that I love but most close by 6/7 and I would love some other options that are open later!!

Must do activities in the Twin Cities

Hi everybody, so my partner, and I may be moving from the cities back home to Texas by the end of the year beginning of next. I love being in Minnesota and will miss it dearly. But before we go I want to make the most of the spring, summer, and fall. Is there any recommendations for things we need to do before leaving the Twin Cities? Even things outside of the cities would be great too. A Minnesota bucket list if you will. Thanks guys.

Screen Printer | Birthday Party

Hi community --

I was recently talking with a friend about my son's upcoming birthday party and how I often make custom shirts for him and his friends and family.

As the conversation went further along, I also mentioned that my son has interest in learning how to screen print and I was wondering how much it would cost for start up materials and the like.

My friend then told me that there are companies that will bring screen printing materials to your place and print shirts for you there, on site.

I've been searching and haven't found what I'm looking for just yet, but upon thinking more about it, this may be something for larger corporate events.

So I'm posting here to see if maybe there are any independent screen printers who know anything about this or have any ideas for me on anyone who may be interested in doing something like this at a smaller level, or where I might look to find someone in this realm.

Thanks in advance for any help!

Good Chipotle locations

My kids (teens) have never had Chipotle. Why? They have the bad fortune of having me, someone who avoids that place like the plague, as their parent.

They’ve been bugging me for years and I think this weekend is finally when I give in and surprise them with a trip to get some. Since I’m the one paying, and I also remember going to some that were pretty gross, is there a location around Minneapolis that you would recommend going to over others now?

I won’t lie, I’ll probably buy myself a big bag of their chips and hiss at anyone who dares come near me as I shove them all into my face.

Edit: I’ve been reading your replies to them and THANK YOU, I think they might be erasing Chipotle from their brains.

These kids have been raised less than a mile from East Lake and all of the awesome food there - I have obviously failed as a mother. Hah.
