Mexico Banking: How to Obtain RFC via SAT?

Couple questions for anyone (permanent resident) who's recently opened a bank account in Mexico, actually.

  1. Which one bank would be the most recommended, if any? BBVA, Santander, other?
  2. Is a Mexican phone number absolutely required to open up a bank account? Would using a disposable/prepaid number work?
  3. Were you put in a "virtual queue" when scheduling an appt to obtain RFC via SAT (https://citas.sat.gob.mx)? If so, any idea how long is the wait?

Anything else I may be missing, feel free to point out!

Hope I can get some real answers here!

I am deeply enamored and fascinated by board games in general. I've watched Kickstarters come and go, campaigns massively succeed or crash and burn. There's plenty of games that aren't "for me" yet I appreciate them for various reasons (mechanics, theme, art direction, production quality, etc.).

However, I've been genuinely puzzled by the sheer attention/publicity certain games seem to get (several months and years later). So what's the fuss all about?

What makes everyone (and their grandma) jump on the hype train?

~~

PS: And I'm not talking about top-100 games that have their "quiet" following (e.g. Through the Ages currently ranked #18 on BGG, or Clank! Legacy sitting at #28), but specifically those that are constantly brought up in comments, websites, videos, etc.

Anyone into board games? Terra Mystica, 7 Wonders, It's A Wonderful World, Spirit Island, Dune: Imperium, Race for the Galaxy, Century: Spice Road, Great Western Trail, Kemet/Cyclades, just to name a few.

Extra bonus points if I find someone inside Playacar. Preferably other temp/perm residents? Age 30+ ideally.

Puedo hablar Espanol tambien (pero evidentemente sin Ñ).

TL;DR? Looking for someone with a passion for board game design who's got the time/interest to discuss a few projects that we may potentially work together on.

If this resonates, feel free to PM!

Been cooking a few projects since 2017. Almost entirely solo.

All games are designed to be medium-weight, bright, vibrant, colorful and poppy (think It's A Wonderful WorldMoon Colony Bloodbath, Cosmic Encounter, the like). I like things to pop so hard even your grandma wants to play it! No drab spreadsheets. No analysis paralysis. Play in under 1 hour (or thereabouts).

Have spent hundreds of hours extensively researching all sorts of board games and watching people play. I feel I have a fairly good idea as to what makes a game "stand out" on its own two lil' feet (or tentacles, as it may be--unless of course it's got wings!).

Edit: I do this for the sake of creativity itself, and for the simple joy of watching people have fun!

"XENO"

  • Semi-coop
  • Trade & negotiation
  • High player interaction
  • Simultaneous turns
  • Open information
  • 4-6 players
  • "Psy-fi"

"KENAI"

  • Adaptation of old PS1 game
  • "Dice Throne"-like combat
  • Quick and snappy turns
  • Asymmetric powers
  • Mind games!

These are just the main two. There's other half-baked ideas in the "civilization-esque" and "organ trading sim" department.

Again, if the above resonates, just PM so I can share images, mockups and all the rest.
