Hi! So I’ve (21F) have been working at Walgreens as a pharmacy tech for a bit over 2 years. But about a year in maybe I have been having like really bad sleep issues. Like I cannot hear my alarms and even if I do, I fall right back asleep and cannot get up to save my life. So, as you can imagine, this is causing a lot of problems for me to get to work on time. I’ve been trying to find a doctor that will help me figure out what I have going on and how I can regulate my sleep better. My store manager and pharmacy manager has been really lenient on me being late up until this new year where me getting written up is getting closer and closer as each day goes by and while I do have an appointment on May 5th to see a doctor who can hopefully help me, my store manager had a talk with me basically saying that me and the pharmacy manager are going to have a talk when she returns. I do have fmla through sedgwick but it only covers 3 days a month even though when I spoke to my provider about that coverage, she said that it was a total of 72 hours worth of missed time. But for some reason it only counts as like 3 days I am late? I’m not sure how that works so if anyone has any input on that I’d appreciate it. Additionally we were talking about me going on a leave of absence for it as well, but I was part time and still am due to the lack of hours the store has, so I’m not sure exactly how the pay would work if I did go on leave for it. With my financial situation, I’m barely getting by as is so if I were to go back to part time I would not be able to afford living, so if the leave was part time pay it wouldn’t work out anyways. Also, I thought of switching pharmacies as a whole, however my title is still a trainee due to how there is never any time or enough staff for me to do my training and finish my miles. I’m not sure how accommodating other pharmacies are when I’m still under trainee according to the board of pharmacy. Any and all help is appreciated! I’m like seriously stuck as to where to go from here and this is my last resort.
