Need to find if I enjoy road trips

I drove to a city an hour away and enjoyed it. I was reading how people like to visit 50 states in their lifetime and was thinking this could be me. However, I don't know if I would enjoy it. I'm based near Boston and have a 3 day weekend coming up, any suggestions?
