Why can't Johnson accomplish what Mandani has in NYC?

Like many in Chicago, I've been pretty disappointed in Johnson's time in office. Sure, he's done some good, removing sub-minimum wage, granting paid sick time, building mental health facilities, condemning ICE, and Trump. But he continues to have a very adversarial relationship with his constituents and has committed numerous political blunders, from simply being ill-prepared for the job.

But I can't help but feel jealous of my friends and family who live in NYC. It's insane to see the sweeping reforms Mandami has accomplished in his short time in office. While I understand Chicago and NYC are very different cities, they're both sprawling metropolises with vast amounts of corruption embedded in their political systems. Mamdami is a great example of walk it like you talk it. So many Democratic politicians act as though their hands are tied constantly, and Mandami is proof that most of these solutions are, in reality, quite simple. He just reduced the deficit to ZERO! He's taxing millionaires, he's providing free train passes for low-income people, and he's holding landlords accountable. It's incredible!

Is it just his prickly personality and shitty relationship with the Governor and city council? Is he just kind of dumb? Why can't we just follow Mamdani's playbook!

Where are all the Danny Nia defenders after this weeks episode?

Would love if all the victim blaming misogynists from last season to come forward and let me know what they think of their favorite Christian couple after this season! Don’t be shy! Let us all know how much you hate Janet more than an actual predator who neglects his wife and children!

I was genuinely so disgusted and put off by this fandom after what I was reading on this sub last season. The mental backflips some of you people went through to defend this man was shocking. He’s a pig!! Please I invite you to defend him after what we saw last episode. This isn’t a bad edit it’s the reality of what this disgusting man is like when his wife isn’t constantly cleaning up his messes and shielding his alcoholism because she’s too exhausted from raising his litter of children. Every moment he’s been on screen this season makes me sick.

My family and I are going through one of the hardest periods of our lives. My father fell suddenly ill last month and just received a lung transplant. There were weeks of uncertainty where we did not know if he could survive. My parents and I have had to relocate to Indianapolis, where his transplant team is, for 2-3 months to care for him while he recovers from this life-changing surgery.

My parents have an Aussie-Border Collie mix that they can no longer care for due to our relocation and my dad's new immunocompromised state. He can no longer pick up dog poop due to its high risk, and he was the dog's main caregiver. He is also just too high-energy for us, while my dad is facing this long road of recovery.

My parents are based in Cincinnati, and I live in Chicago for reference. We are desperate to find someone to rehome him too preverably someone with a farm in the midwest area. Our vet had no resources to help us rehome and we have tried to reach out to breed specific sanctuarys, but the process is long, and we haven't heard anything back from the two in our area. We currently have him with a sitter, but the cost is adding up. I really do not want to take him to a shelter, but we need to get this figured out as soon as possible. We are already under immense stress, dealing with my dad's medical crisis.

He is a beautiful, intelligent dog with no history of biting and has been around other dogs and cats his entire life. He is only 4 years old and extremely healthy with no history of medical issues. Please, can someone help us?

EDIT: Yes he is fixed! Great with other animals has lived with other dogs and cats his whole life. Fine with school aged kids but a bit too high energy for young kids. Up to date on all vaccines!

Hi everyone. I am going to be temporarily relocating to Indianapolis to caretake for my dad. He just received a lung transplant at IU Methodist, and we need to be near the transplant site for 2-3 months.

I live in Chicago, and my parents live in Cincinnati, so we're all pretty unfamiliar with the area. I am very lucky to have my loving partner who will be coming up every weekend to stay with me while I'm here. Since we're going to be low-distance for a few months, I want to make the most of our time together during the weekends. What are some fun date ideas in the city? We are big foodies/ love a good cocktail. We also love museums, movies, exploring parks, and nature.
