Passed my PMP exam! BT | T | AT

Thought I’d share what helped me pass in case it helps someone else.

I did a 4 day bootcamp mainly to get the 35 PDUs and get introduced to the material.

After that I used AR’s exam cram course. I watched everything at regular speed just to really understand the mindset and what PMI is actually looking for. One thing I noticed is sometimes he’ll say something incorrectly while explaining a topic, but the correct info is usually on the screen so you have to pay attention.

For Study Hall I used the cheaper version. I completed all practice questions with no retakes. My average was 74%. I took one mock exam and scored 72%.

I also used DM’s 150 PMBOK scenario questions on YouTube. That honestly helped me a lot with learning how to eliminate bad answers instead of trying to memorize everything.

For context I was juggling:
Full time job
Newborn
Online college classes

So if anybody feels like they don’t have enough time, it’s definitely possible.

Best of luck to everybody trying to knock this exam out before July 9th.

Almost forgot… I wore blue everything on exam day.

One thing I learned after seeing my score breakdown is how close these scoring categories really are. A handful of questions can literally move you from BT to T or from T to AT.

548 in early April. 652 as of April 26th. I’ll take it. No tricks. Goodwill letters, disputes, paid off some collections, and kept my utilization down. Slow grind but it’s working.

Still got a ways to go. I’ve got federal student loans in rehabilitation through Default Resolution Group and that’s been its own nightmare. The issue I’m running into Nelnet kept reporting monthly lates even during a period where my loans hadn’t even been transferred to DRG yet. So I literally had no way to make payments and they’re still hitting my report like I just didn’t pay.

Filed disputes with all three bureaus, sent certified letters to Nelnet, and I’ve got a CFPB complaint ready to go if I don’t see movement soon.

Curious if anyone else has dealt with this specifically Nelnet reporting derogatory marks during a rehab transfer period where you had no payment portal, no account set up, nothing. How did you handle it? Did the bureaus actually do anything with the dispute or did you have to escalate?

Trying to hit 720+ and I know it’s not gonna be quick but I’m not stopping either. Just looking to connect with people who’ve been through similar situations.
