as someone who has never followed a certain madhab nor has a muslim community close, how should i choose one? just based on the opinions i like most? reading books?

another question is, are certain madhabs politically and territorialy asociated such as wahabbism or salafism or are there wahabbis that have nothing to do with saudi arabia for instance?
