Why are you loyal to IHG?

I have IHG status thru the Chase Sapphire, and I looked into hotels and was disappointed, compared to Marriott, the artsy/midscale options are so bland compared to Moxy or Autograph. And the points system seems pretty devalued, as well as just less overall footprint. As a genuine question, why IHG?

Do people actually let people into the Club with them?

I’ve seen a few reels of some dude claiming he’s a GS waving strangers into the club with him (some denied access/some randos out of the hall). Do people actually do this? I have the club card and I fear it’d be so awkward to offer.

AMEX Rewards Checking?

Seems like a great option if you can’t responsibly put *everything* on a credit card, not my situation, but for many it is, or things that have large CC fees, or for just extra incidentals, etc. 2MRP to $1, no foreign transaction fee, good design (and world class mobile app) as well as many other things. Other than previously needing a relationship with AMEX, what drawbacks are there, and why isnt it used as much.

Edit 1 MRP to $2, so $1000 spent 500 MRP, not great. I have seen some $250 ish SUBs in this reddit though, not sure if currently availible.

Conceptual Metro Transit System in Vail

Made a metro system for Vail as a small project as I come all of the time and think how great it’d be if cars were able to be completely eliminated from the main two villages. And to have direct easy transit to the airport.

Obviously only moderately to not likely, but I thought i’d share my very optimistic approach of connecting different forms of transit.

Using shallow underground light rail and a quick rail connection along or parrarel the existing union pacific lines, allowing for a 25 min connection to the airport, not replacing existing bus lines, but enhancing capacity, creating a higher frequency, quicker transit option for Vail.

(Edit: This is a school project to build a 2040 metro system for a small city with its own nuances and challenges, Vail is a challenging city to work with: Geography, Tiny permanent population, overly high tourism. I am born and raised Coloradan and it’s more a fun idea to look at than trying to offend anyone.6
