18M Polymath. I want to build systems and maximize my impact on the world, but I don't know where to start.
First of all, I am a new user here, so please excuse any mistakes. I'm an 18-year-old who is deeply passionate about everything that is beneficial to the world. My ultimate goal is to provide the maximum possible value to the universe, but I don't know how to achieve this.
I have a wide range of interests, including languages, mathematics, physics, biology, chemistry, economics, psychology, art, and technology. However, I recently came to a realization: I am only human, and like everyone else, I only have 24 hours in a day.
For example, if I were a psychologist, the positive impact I could have on humanity and nature within those 24 hours would be strictly limited. But if I were a leader managing a team of psychologists, I could generate a much greater benefit. I've applied this thought process to every field, and the conclusion is always the same: it all points to leadership and management. Please correct me if my reasoning is flawed.
At 18, I don't want to waste any more time. I have no desire to go to a traditional university. Money isn't my primary motivation; I can sustain myself one way or another. Right now, my only desire is to build my foundational skills, but I don't know how. I need clear, actionable advice, such as "focus on developing yourself in this specific field."
Let me give one final example before I wrap up. Instead of just buying a computer, I want to build my own. I want to build my own desk, design my own house, and make my own clothes. I am fascinated by so many different fields, and I have realized I cannot achieve all of this entirely on my own.
In short, I want to bring new, highly advanced, beautifully designed technological products and systems into this world. I just don't know the exact path to take.
This post might sound a bit amateurish, but honestly, that's exactly what I am right now—a beginner.
