Glock armorers course report
I attended the Glock armorers course this week. My three Glocks are bone stock, no modifications. Field strip for cleaning. I have not disassembled any of them. The oldest is 2 years old. All of them get shot at least once a month at the range. I am not law enforcement. I was able to attend as retired military. There were approximately 28 people in attendance. Each student was handed a Gen 5 Glock 19 or 17 and a Gen 6. Glock 19 to work on. The first part of the class concentrated on the Gen 6 Glock which we went through piece by piece and disassembled and reassembled a couple of times. Then we went through the Gen 5 and disassembled and reassembled multiple times. Plenty enough to get very comfortable with it. Glcks are so simple. Besides disassembly, we disgused troubleshooting And modifications. We also installed a Glock performance trigger. The class was 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. With lunch provided. The biggest thing I got from it is the knowledge and confidence to completely strip down all of my Glocks including my Slimline. And a better understanding of how all the pieces and parts work. Whether the class is worth $300, price tag will completely depend on your personal situation. You could certainly get all of this from YouTube. But I'm old school and I'd rather learn in person and through Hands-On instruction with an instructor to answer questions. And $300 does not break the bank for me. The official certification was for Gen 5 only, but in the near future it's going to be a combined Gen 5 and gen 6 certification. To be clear, we also disassemble the Gen 6 but the surf didn't officially certify that expertise though we covered it anyway.
