Separation anxiety in 4month old puppy.

My puppy will be anxious and starts to pace around the playpen when we are not around. Usually when there is someone home we will let him out and lock him in his cage when there is no one home. BUT usually there will be someone home and only 1-3 days a month where there is no one home. How should we train him such that he wont be anxious when left home for the day. He will happily nap for the first 2 hours when we are not home and starts going crazy after that. Any advice will be appreciated.
He doesnt eat his meals when we are nt around.

Hi,

I have a 4month old cockapoo that just went on 2 days hunger strike and finally ate . I tried transitioning him from taste of the wild bison to hill science small and mini and its giving him loose stools, he finally ate after i used his old kibbles and not give him the new ones. He is seen to be scratching his chin ears and inner thigh more. I suspect that he knows the new food is giving him stomache upsets. Suspect some allergy to chicken. Possible recommendations for another brand of kibbles for him?

I have a 4-month-old Cockapoo (around 4kg) and I’m looking for advice regarding his eating habits.
He has recently started refusing to eat from his bowl unless the kibble is scattered on the floor. Lately, he’s also been skipping breakfast and lunch entirely. I’m unsure how to handle this and whether waiting him out is the right approach.
Background:
When he first came home, I added a small amount of goat milk to his kibble for a few days (breakfast only), then stopped.

He was originally on one kibble brand and has since been gradually transitioned over 7 days to a different puppy formula.

I briefly added supplements (rosehip powder and salmon oil), but stopped the rosehip powder as he didn’t seem to like it.

During the transition, he developed loose and slightly sticky stools, which have improved but are still not fully firm.

He is currently fed 3 meals a day based on recommended portions (~40–45g per meal), but often doesn’t finish his food.

Other observations:
He is generally active, playful, and responsive when interacting with people.

However, he is not very food-motivated and has become less responsive to treats compared to before.

He may have some mild separation-related behaviors.

I’m concerned he may not be getting enough nutrition due to inconsistent eating. Has anyone experienced something similar, and how did you manage it?
Any advice would be appreciated.

I have a 4 month old cockapoo that weighs around 4kg. He refuses to eat from bowl unless i scatter on the floor. Now refuses to eat for breakfast and lunch. What should i do? No idea how to proceed. Is starving till he eats the only option?
Story:
I did mix goat milk into his kibble for afew days when he initially arrived just for breakfast, then stopped when vet say its unecessary

  1. Brought him when he is having Taste of the Wild Bison and brought hum to the vet. Vet says that Taste of the wild is known to be an overpriced and “bad” brand hence i transitioned him to Hill science small and mini.
  2. Before transition i gave him rosehip powder and salmon oil. Found that he didnt like the rosehip powder hence i stopped.
  3. He has loose and sticky stools for a few days and currently is still having SLIGHTLY sticky stools which is normal due to kibble change(i hope after doing some research)
  4. he always doesnt finish his food even though i split his meals into 3 meals according to the recommended portion (3 meals a day 40-45g a meal)

I am getting anxious as Im afraid he is not getting his nutrient requirements. He is a very gentle and sweet boy, except when he is having his separation anxieties.

He is also very lazy and not food motivated, initially trained him using the treats given by shop. Taste of the wild puppy treats, now he is not really motivated and rather sit down than do something for the food.
He is still very hyper when he sees us and is willing to play, just not very willing to eat.

Did anyone encounter similiar issues? PLEASE advise🙏🏻
