Hi! I’m currently choosing between DLSMHSI and OLFU Campus for Nursing, and honestly, I’m really torn right now.

At first, I already reserved a slot at DLSMHSI and even found a dorm near the campus. The environment, facilities, and overall reputation of the school are really good, which is why I initially planned to pursue it. However, my biggest concern is the tuition fee since it’s quite expensive, and I’m not sure if I’ll be able to secure a scholarship. I’m worried that it might cause financial problems for our family in the long run.

For context, my father is the only one providing for all of us siblings, and we all have different school and living expenses. He’s a seafarer and pretty much the breadwinner not only for our immediate family but also for some of our extended family members. The problem is that he’s already beyond retirement age, so there’s a possibility that his contract might not get renewed this year. Because of that, I’ve been thinking a lot about our future finances and the long-term impact of choosing a more expensive school.

That’s why I started considering OLFU instead since the tuition fee is much lower compared to DLSMHSI. The downside is that I haven’t processed anything there yet — basically back to zero if I decide to pursue OLFU.

I just want to ask for advice or insights, especially from Nursing students or graduates from either school. Which school do you think would be the better choice considering both education quality and financial practicality? Also, among the OLFU campuses, which one is considered the best for the Nursing program?
