Hey everyone,
I’m a student looking for a gaming tablet that can also double as a school/work device, and I’m trying to find the best option under $1500 CAD.
What I’m looking for:
Strong performance (I want to play Steam indie games + some heavier titles through emulation/cloud/Android ports)

Android-based (prefer this over Windows)

Dock mode / desktop-style use + keyboard support

Good thermals (don’t want something that overheats during longer sessions)

Not too big — portability matters

I’ve been using an Anbernic RG35XXH and I really like it, especially the retro design and how portable it is, but I’m definitely starting to feel like I need more power.
What I mainly play:
PS2 (probably the most important for me)
GBA
Some lighter Switch titles
Indie games through GameNative
I still really prefer that older retro handheld look instead of something that feels like a full modern console.
I’ve been looking at the Retroid Pocket 4 Pro, and it seems like a solid upgrade, but with how fast these handhelds are evolving, I’m not sure if it’s still worth buying in 2026.
For what I want (mainly PS2 + some Switch + retro feel), is the RP4 Pro still a good buy right now, or is there a better option I should be looking at?
