honest question because I have a current 100+ chapter fic that is just wayyyyyy too self indulgent, to ever honestly put on AO3.

Does anyone else write fics that they know they just can’t put out in the world because it’s too ridiculous?

edit to add: no one wants to read my OC/slytherin boys reverse harem extreme canon divergent nonsense. But good to know I’m not alone writing stuff that will never see light of day 😅

So many of us all are moving soon thanks to start of residency, fellowships, end of those things etc. personally we’re moving 1,500 miles (with a toddler) in a couple months for one year just to move back the 1,500 miles the next year.

With all the stress and annoyance and drama that comes with moves I just want to let you all know how great you’re doing.

You’re really strong, resourceful, and caring!

You can do hard things, even when it feels so unfair to have to do them. Picking up your life for your Medspouse is self sacrificing in a beautiful way, especially when it’s at its hardest.

If you haven’t gotten the recognition you need and the affirmation you deserve, I want to personally say (as best I can on a reddit thread), thank you for what you’re doing for your family and the community around you. I see and know the effort it is taking. I think you’re doing amazing.

My cousin, God bless her, had four children under 6. We went to an indoor play place recently and she tells me that “since we have the four I’ve lowered my standards to just everyone is in eyesight”. and then she got mad at me when my face was a bit surprised. but girl I’m sorry you’re kids are crazy! they’re running amuck, throwing toys, one is completely melting down, and the other is climbing on something they shouldn’t. But it’s all good because you have eyes on them all so we’re solid. And we continue our convo as I help my 3 year old do whatever it is he is doing and make sure he treats things with respect.

How can people expect to raise good humans with manners when you do nothing but the excuse is “there’s just too many for me to really make sure they behave”. All her kids were planned. I’m just so confused. Is it just common to lower your standards when you have so many?
