So I traded in my car and I cancelled the service contract same day. This created a refund for the auto loan to the tune of about $1700. I gave the dealership the payoff amount without that refund in consideration. They had that amount on the contract. Called the credit union because I was going to use the overpayment to get a new service contract and they said the payoff check was exact and so there was no overpayment made. Can’t get the dealership on the phone. Is it legal for the dealership to pocket that $1700?
Edit, numbers are as follows;
Buyers order(payoff) $13946.10
Bank received $12214.14
Missing funds $1731.96
