We have a Sensi Smart thermostat that I installed recently.

Wires:

Red

White

Green

Yellow.

When I turn the AC on. It acts erratic. It will turn on. Turn off. It will then not boot up at all. Then it will work fine all day.

I got fed up and put my old thermostat back on. ZERO ISSUES.

What the heck is going on? The wiring is very simple. Our home is dual zone but the HVAC is one stage. AC unit is outdoors and heater via Gas.

I can confirm the settings are fine. Maybe it really does need a common wire and the batteries isn't enough to juice it up.

Absolutely stumped.
