Speed test ATT vs Verizon

Look I know there are going to be many variable factors when it comes to speed tests especially carrier to carrier in same location vs where their towers are but given both phones were full bars and both on their respective +(AT&T) and UW (Verizon) along different models I figured I run some tests and see what the results were.

For reference of data
Verizon- iPhone 16
AT&T- iPhone 17 Pro

I understand these two are vastly different when it comes to hardware but with the technology in these phones nowadays, there isn’t a super wide gap like there used to be considering iPhones are performing relatively well even 2-3 years later. I completed a 5G speed test to compare the two carriers. Both phones were shut down and restarted. Both had no tabs open other than Speedtest.

Best plan advice to save money but not sacrifice QoS

Looking to see what would be the best advice or plan to get through ATT. Recently switched and I think there could be better options on the table.

Current devices and plans: 2 phones, 2 watches)
We have 300 fiber and 1 line on unlimited premium and 1 line on 55+. Both watches are paid off and the phones were paid off when we switched to ATT.

Just wanted to see what everyone is paying or what plans/deals to maximize quality and data without paying an arm or leg(deals, promos, discounts)

I know there have been plenty of posts about this but I haven’t come across any definitive answers.

My two questions are

  1. Does the highland models 24+ have any speakers “disabled” like the older base models had and can they be enabled like they could in the previous models with harness mods that were out there for them.

  2. If there is no additional speakers that are disabled, is it possible to use the cut outs in the trunk where the subwoofers in the higher trims would be, is there a empty plug where a subwoofer would plug into like they used the same harnesses between trims?

From everything I’ve seen it seems people are modifying and splicing into wires for audio and I’m trying to avoid any modifications that could be visible if I ever had to take in for service. Just wanted to see if anyone has tested or checked if adding a sub and connecting into factory harness if applicable or if there was a mod like old models to “enable” extra speakers if they were present.

We just recently switched over to AT&T from Verizon after having them for close to 25 years! We have never had any other wireless service otherwise. We had some mishaps with switching which I believe has been resolved but time will tell when a bill arrives.

My question is how has everyone’s experience been with AT&T whether you have recently switched or been with them for a while? If you came from Verizon as well, were there any issues or complaints or regrets? Our bill with Verizon was $232 (2 phones, 2 watches) when we had Fiber installed by AT&T I was interested if maybe now is the time to switch phone carriers. Our bill now with Fiber is around $150-160. Considering our Verizon bill was $232 and internet prior was $40, I consider this a no brainer.

But just wanted to see what everyone else has experienced or anything to look or watch for. I am also in central OH, so if you are also in Ohio and have service coverage experience I’d like to know how it compares to Verizon. TIA!

Recently moved two phones and two watches to AT&T since we got their fiber internet and had the 55+ plan available along with the 20% signature discount, it seemed too good to pass up. The issue I am coming to realize is the data speeds at which I’m receiving since switching are abysmal and horrible doesn’t matter the time a day. I know this is due to the priority data plans.

My question is if we signed up for the 55+ plan and I want to upgrade my line to say the Premium 2.0, is this going to affect our plan and whatnot as it pertains to the bill? I read that the 55+ plan was for two phones and two wearables. Just want to make sure before I switch my plan if it will just increase the bill by what I do to my plan and not the whole bill since there would only be 1 phone then on that plan.
