So I had about 18 minutes of my shift left when I finished a frozen walk. I started another walk to see how many items it would give me, and it was a 61 item ambient walk. I didn't have time to do this as I had to go home soon, and I already had a ride waiting for me to leave at my scheduled time, so I canceled the walk and did cart refills instead. (Also for clarification, there were only autos left to do)
About 9 minutes before I could clock out, my lead and coach asked when the last time I picked was and told me to do another walk. It gave me the same 61 ambient walk, and I told them I can't do it since I have to go home soon. I told them it gave me that walk a few minutes prior and couldn't do it since I'm about to clock out. My coach tells me to back out of it, and gets onto me and tells me to get with my leads next time because we're not supposed to exit walks. Well neither of them were in the backroom when I first entered the walk, and secondly last time a situation like this happened I was told by my other lead that I have to work overtime to complete the walk, because we're not allowed to exit them early.
I don't really know what I was supposed to do? Was I in the wrong?
Admittedly this is my fault due to choosing every day of the week as part of my availability, but I didn't think that would mean I could be scheduled more than five days in a row. I was scheduled for seven a few weeks ago before telling my coach I couldn't do it and it got reduced to six. I just had to work six again earlier this week, and next week I'm scheduled for six again.
I can't change my availability on the app yet, so would it be a bad look on me if I tell my coach I can't work more than five days in a row?
One of my TLs has said to me that we do not exit pickwalks - we have to finish them even if it's time to clock out. Can you actually get in trouble for ending a walk before it's time to go home? I always worry that I'm gonna end up with a huge walk right before it's time to clock out
