I’m curious what people think and know about swaddles and development. I have an 8 week old and today the pediatrician said he advise to get out of a swaddle soon because my baby shouldn’t be restricted so they can explore and develop. He followed it with “but I’m old.” Does have any research either to keep swaddling or to stop? I know to stop once my baby can roll over but was curious what there is to back up his comment.

My baby is 8 weeks now and when we do tummy time on my chest he sometimes throws his head back and comes forward so fast.

Today he did that and hit his head to my chin. I felt like he did it pretty hard. It left a red mark on his head that quickly faded and he cried for about a minute.

Does this fall under “kids are resilient” or should I be worried?
