Lian Li A3-mATX case build
Hii yall !!
New build or upgrade?
- New build
Existing parts/monitors to reuse? (List with models/links)
- No existing PC parts to reuse.
--> Probably will get BenQ EW270Q (1440p monitor, 27 inch, also has 200hz but its really good for that price plus its white).
PC purpose? (Gaming, editing, etc. List apps/games)
- My max goal is to play modern AAA titles in high settings with atleast 60fps. Examples: horizon zero dawn/ forbidden west, Resident evil 9 Requiem and upcoming releases like Phantom Blade Zero, Control resonant, Tomb raider Legacy of atlantis. I also want to use it for media consumption like watching movies/series with headphones. I also plan to use Linux as my operating system.
Purchase country? Near Micro Center? (If not US, list local vendors)
- Germany.
--> Theres a website called alternate and they have PC configuration option where you can pick all the parts u want and they build it for you and ship it to you (for free bc cyberweek).
Monitors needed? (Number, size, resolution, refresh rate)
1 monitor.
- 27 inch, 1440p, ideally high refresh rate (around 144–200Hz).
Budget range? (Include tax considerations)
- Around 1600€ maximum for the PC build.
WiFi or wired connection?
- doesnt matter ig
Size/noise constraints?
- Lian Li A3-mATX case in white, which I intend to place inside this IKEA TROTTEN drawer. Based on my measurements the width and depth are perfect, but I only have about 6cm of clearance at the top. Since the PC will sit on the unit's metal mesh shelf, it will have excellent bottom intake, but I am concerned about heat exhausting toward the drawer above. The bottom of the drawer has the same breathable mesh material as the shelf the case sits on. I would appreciate advice about airflow/thermals and component choices that stay relatively cool and efficient.
I would also prefer lower power consumption to avoid very high electricity bills while gaming.
Color/lighting preferences?
- Internal component colors do not matter because the case has no glass side panel and will sit under the desk.
No RGB needed — clean/minimal look preferred if it saves money.
Any other specific needs?
- I want the PC to last around 5 years, so I am unsure whether AM4 + DDR4 is still worth since it saves a ton of money or if AM5 + DDR5 would be the better long-term option.
I was also considering an AMD GPU like the AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT instead of NVIDIA because of power efficiency/value considerations and Linux support.
1TB storage is probably enough for now.I won't get the PC until around Black Friday, I'm hoping prices will drop. Even tho it can get higher nobody knows but i still want good components wich are future proof and keep them on watchlist.
