What do you use for real-time alerts about security threats while browsing? Chrome's built-in warnings don't seem to catch everything.

chrome safe browsing feels kinda behind lately

almost logged into a fake google docs page a few days ago because everything looked normal until the redirect after sign in. also had a sketchy extension try opening random tabs in the background last month

what are people here actually using these days besides the default chrome protection? mostly curious about stuff that catches phishing pages, malicious extensions or fake popups before you click something dumb

What’s hiding in your docker images that you probably don’t need?

I’ve been cleaning up a fairly messy Docker setup with a mix of services, side projects, and a few things I forgot I even deployed. It got me thinking less about containers, and more about what’s actually inside the images.

A lot of them just work, so I never really questioned them. But when I started looking closer, some images are pulling in way more packages and dependencies than the app seems to need. Which kind of explains why every scan turns into a wall of CVEs.

Feels like most of us optimise for convenience (it builds, ship it) rather than what in fact runs in production.

Curious how others think about this:

- Do you actively try to minimise what’s inside your images?

- Stick with Alpine/distroless?

- Or just accept the bloat and deal with it at scan time?

Feels like there’s probably a lot of unused stuff sitting in images that never gets touched.

am i weird for preferring simple soft bags over trendy ones right now?

everyone around me is buying super structured designer bags lately but i keep going back to softer, simple ones that feel more personal. like slightly nostalgic, not overly polished. starting to feel like i’m out of sync with trends lol anyone else in this lane?

why do people assume expensive bags automatically mean better quality?

i used to think higher price meant better quality for bags but after owning a few, not always true. some feel just as generic as cheaper options just with branding. feels like people overestimate luxury a lot

Srsly cant tell if the new select briq 2 are better than original select carts. I almost always get the same thing at curaleaf but starting to get fomo when I see other people buy them. are they worth it?

Forgive me if this has already been asked. I work in DevOps and I am looking for a python course that supports the kind of work I do. I am mostly trying to get better at automation, cloud ops, and operating systems more reliably in production. I noticed theres a DevOps path on the Boot dev and wondering if anyone has gone through their courses yet? The Python Linux Git Docker AWS and CI CD stuff looks the most interesting to me. Has anyone done a course from this site before?

I just launched my first Shopify store selling simple fitness accessories after weeks of setting everything up theme, products, payments, shipping and I thought I was finally ready, but now I’m realizing the real challenge is everything after launch like getting traffic, choosing the right apps without overloading the store, and figuring out whether to focus on ads, SEO, or social media first, so I’m curious from people who’ve already gone through this stage: what’s the one mistake or lesson you wish you had known earlier when starting out on Shopify?
