Dealing with a Realtor

Working with a realtor and already signed the representation agreement. We found a good rental listing for $1800 + utilities.

As part of the application, I submitted my PR card, employment letter, credit report (760+ score), and my husband’s passport. The realtor also submitted our offer to the landlord.

They requested payment via cheque, but I don’t have a cheque book, so I asked the realtor to add a note that I’d pay via Interac, which he did.

Now he’s come back asking for 3 months of pay stubs (which I understand and expected), plus my bank statement to review my rent payment history.

Is asking for bank statements normal in this situation? I’m okay providing proof of income, but sharing banking details feels a bit intrusive, so I wanted to check if this is standard practice in Ontario.

Travelling from Toronto to Mumbai and then to Bali. Need USD to get them converted into Bali's currency.

Now, my question is should I convert CAD to USD in Canada itself and them travel or change INR to USD in India?

This is my first trip. Please share insight.

The realtor has requested my credit report, but I’ve never accessed or checked it before. Could you please advise how I can obtain it? The websites I’ve come across all seem to charge a fee—is that correct and is there a way to retrieve it without additional cost?

I joined a company in Department A in Aug 2016 and worked there until Aug 2021. They didn’t have their own PF trust, so all my PF details were maintained on the Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) portal.

In Sept 2021, I moved to Department B within the same company, which has its own PF trust. I later transferred my PF balance from Department A to Department B and eventually withdrew the PF amount.

Now I’m trying to withdraw my EPS (pension) amount. However, on the EPS portal, my Date of Joining (DOJ) is showing as Sept 2021 instead of Aug 2016.

I checked with the company, and they said that both EPF and EPS were transferred, but since the transfer went into Department B’s PF trust (which I joined in Sept 2021), the DOJ is reflecting as Sept 2021—and according to them, that’s correct.

This is confusing to me. My understanding was that EPS service should count from Aug 2016, not reset to 2021.

Can anyone confirm if this is actually correct? If not, how can I get it rectified to ensure my full EPS service is considered for withdrawal?

I ordered my wedding dress from Dulhan on Feb 25. I was promised delivery between April 15–30. I have a flight to my home country on May 1, so timing was critical.

I stayed in touch every 1–2 weeks to follow up, and every time I was told things were “on track.” There were also periods where I got no response at all. I even visited the store once for an update, but she didn’t attend to me, saying she was busy with religious activities. I respected that and left, continuing to follow up via calls and messages—still no real updates, just “on track.”

On April 19, after not hearing from her, I asked for a pickup date. She said it would be shipped on Friday (April 24). On the 24th, she said Saturday. On April 27, she said it would be ready for pickup on April 30 or May 1—which already didn’t work for me.

I pushed back and reminded her I originally needed it by April 15, and even April 30 was cutting it too close.

Then today (April 28), things got worse. In the morning, she told me it would be delivered soon and asked if I could come to Markham to pick it up. I said no—I don’t drive, and it’s a 3-hour one-way trip by multiple buses, plus I have work.

Later that same day, she told me my wedding dress was mistakenly delivered to a client in Dubai, and that client’s dress is here instead.

I completely panicked. I have a flight in two days.

Her solution? She said since the dress is made in my home country, she can deliver it there.

I said absolutely not. I paid $3000 for this dress—I’m not flying out and then figuring out how to receive it in another country right before my wedding.

At this point, I don’t even know what to do.
