Contract - normal or red flag?

I booked a 3 week stay, got the confirmation email, credit card was dinged for the deposit, and then an email directing me to a contract that needed signing.

There wasn’t anything in the agreement that stood out (other than an undefined ‘cleaning fee’ assessed on checkout), but is a contract a normal thing?

Being a first-timer, I thought everything was spelled out in the Vrbo pages.

Soft start install and results

I just installed a Micro-Air Easy Start on my 2.5 ton AC. Pre-install amp draw was 68, post-install amp draw is 23.

I have a Delta Pro3.

Am I good for running the AC off the battery?

Follow up - soft start kit?

Pre-kit (Micro-Air Easy Start), amp draw at start up was 68.
Kit-installed, 25 amps.

I’m getting cold air from the vents.

Can I conclude the install is good? Or is there something else I need to be watching for?

Inverter compressor?

I plan on installing a soft start kit, and the soft start unit says it won’t work with an inverter compressor.

I don’t see anything that indicates it is or isn’t, so I thought I’d ask here.

No reviews - avoid?

I’m looking at some places in Naples, FL, and a few have no reviews - they do have VRBO’s ‘don’t worry’ comment.

So, is a lack of reviews a killer?

And I’m guessing, all things being equal, a lack of reviews should come with a lower cost than a place with a bunch of 10/10s?

How noisy - Immokalee and Euclid?

I’m looking at renting a place for next winter that appears to be 1 block north of Immokalee.

From previous visits to the area, I know how traffic can be, but never got a sense of how much traffic noise there is.

Is it more of a steady drone, and probably not an issue inside the house, or is it likely to be an annoyance?

Also, how is the area? Decent neighborhood?

4 ton AC not turning on?

I have a (new) Delta Pro3 with an extra battery and was prepping to install (what I was told would be a necessary) soft start kit on the AC.

I got the compressor running, and max amps at start up were 65.

I flipped the transfer switch and nothing…

Nothing in the EcoFlow app indicated a problem, it continued to show power consumed by a few lights I had on as a test, but no indication that any draw was coming from the compressor.

And yes, the AC runs when I powered it with a 10,000 volt generator through the same transfer switch.

Any ideas?

We’re (2 adults, no kids) looking at spending part of next winter in Naples, and some of the places we’re looking at are in Naples Park.

While I’m a bit familiar with the area, having driven up and down 41 a bit, is there anything about the area that would be nice to know before I hit the ‘Book Now’ button?

Thanks.

The contractor’s contract calls for limiting damages to amounts they had been paid, with no distinction between negligent/gross negligence/etc.

Is this the standard these days, and I have to suck it up as a client, or is this likely negotiable?

This is for a kitchen remodel, mostly cabinet and counter replacement, some moving of electrical outlets and ceiling lights.

Is it a bad idea to have the batteries (Pro3 and an extra) always plugged into and powering circuits on a transfer switch while the batteries are being kept topped off from utility power?

That way, if/when I lose power, I don’t have to go to the basement to flip switches, everything should continue to run uninterrupted.

I’m looking for a unit to power cable box and TV, about 125wh when the TV is on, 30ish when the TV is off.

Two 1000 units gets me 2000wh and cost $600, a 2 Max costs $850 for the same capacity. I don’t need the capability to add extra batteries.

Other than the small hassle of having to swap out one 1000 for another, is there a reason buying 2 of the smaller units isn’t a good idea?

Assume a 2 car accident, no injuries, neither car needs to be towed away, no property damage other than to the two cars, ID and insurance info exchanged.

If one driver wants to call and wait for the police (Fairfax County), does the second driver also have to wait, or having shared their insurance info, are they free to drive off?
