PvE is dying and Carebears are responsible

PvE is dying and Carebears are responsible

Don't blame embark.

This PvE playstyle is the reason for the new PvP being enforced. Was it not clear when we all played the tutorial, what type of game was intended? We defended ourselves from bad actors, looted, and yes predation is a part of the game. It's PvPvE.

Carebear lobbies should never have been a thing. This I believe spawned from the first expedition requirement of $5M. Smart Raiders quickly optimized and figured out the best way to succeed. Cooperation. Working together. Excess wealth. Its a mockery how many people voluntarily reset, to lose all those guns, blueprints, progress, coins.

It's not a zero sum game, where a minimal amount of loot is available. Maybe in the map, but start a new one, and its refreshed with more. It was bound to happen, it removed the pressure of fighting to survive. Rich carebears were playing a different game from the rest of us.

They pressured or manipulated friendly servers. Evident with any normal actions being called foul and embark coddled them. These guys were hoarding Millions in stash value. Keys for rooms never to be opened. Matriarch cores on shelves not used. Do you know people complained about the limit on how many items they can hoard?

Meanwhile I'm out here with a free kit trying to eat for the day. Where one whales loot, just 2% of his net worth was enough for me to get excited. But then they started to punish me or target my previous playstyle for it with no remorse. It forced Raiders to resort to predatory tactics. The game allowed the allocation of wealth to be hoarded by few Raiders, is this part of the game? So is extraction shooting, betrayal, fake friendlies. I started to go along with it, and it worked, I'm on my third expedition no problem.

Now most trials are about getting damage in certain events. When I go into Matriach events, if I'm lucky enough to start at the 30 min mark, shes dead in less than 5 mins. The carebear economy is so efficient, I'm struggling to stay in hotshot solo. Then everyone high fives and hands out cores, loot, in the same display of excess. Like it doesn't matter anymore, I can't spend my $7M coins on anything worthwhile or fast enough. I stopped crafting and just go to the traders.

I miss the days I had to fight, attack, earn for myself. Carebear lobbies spawned more toxicity from the inequality, envy which lead to predation, rats on rats, just for fun. Embark isn't pulling the game in the wrong direction, its a correction or return to the core. What a joke the lore becomes when I'm surrounded by millionaires. If they allowed this to continue, humanity would be back on its feet, and then what?

TL;DR: Carebear lobbies are why PvE had to be shut down. Embark received too many complaints about normal gameplay.

Rat bounty issued - Restore Order

Embark has gone to far. I was able to complete the expedition and looked forward to choosing a different playstyle. As a solo going through the map, many of my abilities were neutered.

Out of muscle memory when I spotted a raider, my "Don't Shoot" emote wasn't working. I was forced to take this Raider down. Rough start, I'll just have to sort through some shitty lobbies for a while.

After looting, I intended to breach a door. I was shot in the back by not 1 but 2 rats. Duos in solo? I get it, PvPvE, extraction shooter, all playstyles valid. Ratting is low, but allowed. Does that now extend to Teaming in solo lobbies? What about the inability to dodge roll or defend myself? I lost all my loot.

I managed to get a screenshot, I've sent an email to embark trying to find the two Raiders names for verification purposes. I have BPs, Legendary weapons, Kinetics, etc. Name your price.

If anyone sees these two, compensation is available. I’m so disgusted, I will pay in hatch keys or springs until I get the usernames. Only Raiders in the tutorial are valid for compensation. No innocent rats shall be targeted or if killed, will receive a rewarded.

I know there are rules or is seen negative for revenge, etc. This isn't that, its a restoration of balance.

The community needs justice. DM for details.

Embark created the PvE problem. PvP Raiders are not rats.

This is a PvPvE extraction shooter. Not piecemeal, let’s create separate playstyles.

I’ve been playing since the game came out. There wasn’t confusion in the mechanics. If you go topside, you can loot, make noise, do quests, battle players, call extract, etc. Another raider being free to play how he wants was never the surprise. That is what made the game great.

I don’t know when Embark decided to coddle raiders so much that it spawned “carebear” lobbies. Raiders started calling anyone who lost a fight a victim of rats. It may have gained popularity with raiders who respected the lore. Then the recent updates corrected back toward an actual extraction shooter, and PvE players are leaving in droves, feeling betrayed once again.

Where’s the problem? PvE only doesn’t even make sense in PvPvE. Why even have an extract if it’s all friendly? I’ve taken dislike to the loose term “rat” for any confrontation not previously consented to. I find the term rat insulting.

We all go topside. We all play the game. Am I unique in excelling at extraction fights, in an extraction shooter? Embark should keep refining toward PvP if the PvE base leaves. I think the term rat should be reserved for real rats.

Why even go topside at all?

Embark should stop coddling weak players and allow the option to remain in the tunnels. You want a real rat, I’ll see you in the tunnel when you return. I want to see how many “PvP” players get exposed as hidden PvE players trying to cope.

I’ll show you ratting.

Never seen this happen before. Used the Snaphook to get on the Matriarch, trying to place a deadline. Another random raider climbed on as well. Next thing I know, the Matriarch is on its back. First time suplexing an ARC. Matriarch gave me a good kick to the face, but I still got a core. Excellent raid.
