“The Ultimate Showdown of Ultimate Destiny” is the spiritual successor to “We Didn’t Start the Fire”

Normally I’d just go about my day, but this is a rarepair from a small fandom, there’s only like 6 fics to choose from lmao. I’m sad too because the first and second chapter were alright, it wasn’t until I got to the third that things got glaringly odd. Also I didn’t mention it in the title but the weird —- line breaks for no reason. I don’t know that to be a feature of AI, but it’s odd, and also wasn’t present in the first two chapters.
So I apologize if this is too specific? But I randomly remembered a line from Criminal Minds but I can’t remember the context of it or what episode it’s from. I desperately want to go watch the ep though.
The line is “the presence of mind” — said I believe by Emily Prentiss, I can *hear* her saying it in my head. I forget the entire line, but she’s complimenting the way a victim handled a situation with an unsub and saying she had an impressive ability in handling it.
Now that I’m typing it out, I believe they were specifically impressed because the victim left behind evidence of what happened to her/where she was being taken OR it was that she was able to subdue/manipulate the unsub in some manner or another.
Thanks in advance!
23f, had plantar warts for a bit as a child and again briefly in my teens (17-18ish). In one of the spots I got a wart in my teens (ball of my foot, on the mid met area according to a foot chart?), I started getting a nagging sensation, almost painful but not quite. Almost an itchy sensation? But again not quite.
The wart has been gone for years, but ever since every once in a while I notice that little nagging sensation. It comes and it goes, it’s been persistent for the past few days and more irritating than usual. The only thing that helps is putting pressure on it so I have to position my feet so one foot is pressing into the sole of the other for relief.
The pain kind of spreads a bit to the surrounding areas. I don’t get this. Is this normal with plantar warts? Can I do something about it or do I just have to deal with this forever?
So I recently got into the Stranger Things fandom (weird timing, I know) and I’ve been noticing this line come up so many times in fics I’ve been reading. Like a kind of ridiculous amount. To the point it’s become a tiny pet peeve when I see it.
I never noticed this line being common before I started reading stranger things fics. I actually remember thinking “huh I haven’t heard that phrase in a hot minute” the first time I read it and actually really enjoying the line for that reason. But then I kept seeing it and I’m a lil sick of her now.
It could just be a confirmation bias thing. Like I saw it that time, took note of it, and now I notice the phrase every time I read it whereas I’d disregard it before. But like I said, the first time I saw it I noted it for the fact that I thought I hadn’t heard that phrase in a long time. So I don’t *think* that’s the case.
I’m wondering if “hung the moon” is a phrase that is popular generally in fanfic, and I’ve either just never noticed it before or it’s a recent thing; or if it’s specifically the stranger things fandom that’s hooked on it. Figured here would be a good place to ask.
ETA: sorry I seemed to give people the wrong idea, that’s on me. I know “hung the moon” is a preexisting colloquialism I just never realized it was used so often lol. Kind of thought of it as a rarely used turn of phrase. Turns out I was wrong haha.
