“Crowd cheers watching Artemis II return to Earth” - Everything in me says it’s AI

Specifically the quality of the picture and the wack American flag tells me this is AI. I zoom in though, and can’t find any obvious indicators (fingers, letters, etc.)

Is this AI? The pinterest comment section was saying it was, but I couldn't find a reason for it to be.

There's lots of consistensies to look pretty real, except maybe the whiskers of the cat kind of blending in together towards the end. I thought the behaviour was initially pretty cat-like, but the comment section on pinterest said it wasn't what a cat would do, and that the movement is unnatural.

REMINDER FROM THE MODS - Rule 3 - explain WHY you think something is or is not AI!

We have had a lot more posts lately that are not following rule 3: explain WHY you think a thing is AI or not. Some of you have asked us why your post that had upvotes and comments got removed - and a lot of them lately have been for a complete lack of explaining why you think it’s AI.

  1. Vague statements are not good enough. “Seems AI/seems off/seems too perfect” is not going to pass the rule 3 test.

Instead of “seems AI,” try “the faces give an uncanny feeling and the tree shapes are blobby and don’t make sense.”

Instead of “seems off,” try “the lighting feels unnatural and doesn’t make sense for the setting, and the colors are too saturated for a real photograph.”

Instead of “seems to perfect,” they “the skin looks way too smooth and there are no wrinkles in the shirt when he bends down.”

  1. Do not just ask “is this AI?”

Even adding “My friend says it is but I don’t see it” won’t cut it.

Describe WHY you don’t think it’s AI. This will mean looking at the pic or video in detail and describing what you see that looks normal. “The lighting looks natural and the clip is longer than a typical AI video would be.” Or “The background stays consistent across clips and you can see the time of day change as the video goes on.”

If possible, describe why your friend thinks it’s AI. “My friend says the cat’s movement is way too unnatural and swears the paw clips through the toy at 0:04, but I think it’s just artifacting from low resolution.”

Why do we have this rule?

  1. One major mission of this sub is to train humans how to spot AI - so we need to see that you have put in some effort into figuring it out for yourself, that you actually examined the content closely, and that you do actually need help figuring it out despite your best efforts.

  2. We are not here to help people find out if their own AI generated content passes as not-AI, so we want to see some plausible reasons why the content might be AI to help weed those folks out.

  3. To cut down on needless artist heartache and harassment, it’s especially important that for artwork a human claimed to make that you have clear VISIBLE, tangible, explainable reasons why you think the art might be AI. Or if you’re defending a piece against accusations of AI, explaining the reasons why you think it’s real, and if possible why others think it’s not, will help our users address those specific details for you.

  4. Putting in even minimal effort to a post helps weed out karma-farming, bots, and other low-effort, low-quality posts we all hate.

Helping my elderly neighbor is this pug "proof of life" photo AI generated?

My neighbor just showed me this photo from a "breeder" who is now asking for an extra $500 for "blood tests." I told her it looks fake, but she needs more proof. I think it’s AI because of the weird off angled letters in the background.

I was shown this image of a “Mayan astronaut” to prove to me that aliens are real and have been known to humans for a very long time. Pls help me debunk this image!

I’m so fed up: Been spending the week with my Dad’s wife who thinks humans have been traveling to space for millennia and aliens live among us in humanoid form and believes that every photo she finds on Facebook is real. I researched this photo and I cannot tell if it’s AI or not. I cannot find real information on it and some photos of the same thing each look slightly different (nose or “spatial equipment”).

Is this art piece I commissioned AI? Brushstrokes looks too plastic and smooth but they provided sketches.

Hello! I was wondering if anyone could help advise me on if this piece i bought for commission from an artist? Originally, they only provided a black and white piece in 3 variants, then 3 colour ones. In one of the variants, the man’s lips were different shapes on both sides, though this could also be down to artist design. When i asked for a sketch of my commission, or a WIP before color / black and white, she said she didn’t have any anymore as she didn’t think i’d need them. I replied saying her artwork is lovely, but that no sketches or base project raises a few alarm bells for me. But maybe she prefers to work on one layer? Then this morning, she sent me 3 different sketches of this project. I only included one of each here ( color & sketch ) to see what yall think? I paid quite a bit for this and don’t want to continue if AI has generated it. Thank you!

Something about this feels off, I like her previous work and it’s seemed real but the corset front is peculiar

The sleeves also seem to be floating, am I being too paranoid, I know it being used to airbrush is a common thing has that just been done perhaps

I believe this picture is the real deal - but AI fakes are rampant, and this subject is ripe for fakes

Is this a real picture of three people of varying levels of awfulness hanging out together? Or maybe it's a pair of pictures stitched together? Or maybe completely generated by AI?

I bought these keychains bc I liked these photos but my friends think it's ai

i found these goose keychains on Instagram and bought them because I really liked the little diorama pictures that they were in. I gave some of the keychains as gifts to some of my friends and when I showed them the pictures they said that they were AI. I don't think they are, but it's hard to really tell. I think I've seen really good dioramas before and they could be photoshopped as well, but nothing is really screaming AI to me because the keychains are consistent and look exactly like the ones I got in the mail. some of the things in the background don't feel like they're the right size though, like the match is definitely smaller than it would be relative to the real keychain. same thing with the chess piece but if they were kit bashing it in Photoshop that could happen as well. none of the words are garbled from what I can tell. can you help me convince my friends that these aren't AI?.

This is a speech of a highly pro-russian politician running for prime minister. Their team claims that it's not AI

There were a lot of rumors previously that he will address the nation with an AI generated video because of his problems with coherent Armenian. Seems like he's not even blinking? Looks suspicious overall.

u/jellybean_undead — 3 hours ago

Saw on IG. A couple of comments were saying "copy and pasting"the same few characters, but it kind of looks real.

u/amazingsciencemuseum — 2 hours ago

I want to believe it’s not but I’m so paranoid and I feel the paws look weird. The back one doesn’t have claws and the middle finger at the front looks kinda merged?

it’s a shirt I saw from the HMV shop and I want to believe they wouldn’t use ai considering the illustrators they’ve had in the past but I’m not sure. like I said the paws look off and I feel like with the text surely they would have had the second ‘A’ in catula carry on behind the L. The cat head just kinda feels a little too simple compares to the rest of the image and the ears so im not sure if it’s a style or just Ai.

Recent update for a game I play posted this video on their twitter page. I believe the static art was put through an AI filter to animate it, and need help identifying it.

This gif was used in a game design notes post for a game called AdventureQuest: Worlds and has some alarming inconsistencies that made me realize it may be AI. I'm not claiming to be an AI expert, but I am an expert on things related to the game itself and I can point out some issues with this. The shadowed part of the character on the right is static and is supposed to mirror the arm on the left, especially in the case of the second character as it's a pauldron and his hand on the right being shadowed and not two pieces of cloth, as the video makes it appear as. Other issues I've noticed is the first character, Aleister's arm kind of just appears in the foreground for no reason right before the scene transitions to the second character.

Here's a link to the twitter post with a higher quality version of the same video:

I've brought this up in their official discord as well, but I'm being shot down for even thinking it could be AI in the first place.

Is this art from a mobile game i downloaded AI? I think it is but I'm not sure.

the lighting looks a bit odd, I'm not exactly sure how to explain that. the hand positions look unnatural and the belt seems unsymmetrical?

Is the "If You're Human and You Know It" ad by World, AI generated? I know it would be super ironic but I am reading World is owned by Sam Altman (OpenAI CEO) and comments keep saying it is, others say it's not, I am confused

The game "Supremacy 1914" released a "definitive version," but I believe that most of the artwork in this new version is AI-generated. I will explain why.

In the first image, the plane next to it has an engine in the middle, but at the same time it also has a support or something similar for an engine on the wings, which shouldn't be the case. In the first image, those things on the right side should be soldiers, But they are in very strange positions and difficult to identify.

In the second image, these "stormtroopers" have very generic weapons and gas masks that don't match reality. I know the game isn't historically accurate, but it's done in a way that raises suspicions of AI. and the helmet belongs to one army (British) and the grenade in the hand belongs to another army (German)

The infantry and cavalry too, it seems they were only asked to add the horses to the image, soldiers with different uniforms, helmets that don't match the uniforms, and so on, suspicions. Note the uniforms, helmets and equipment, belts that don't make sense for example.

In the fifth image we have a Mark V tank, where the cannon is located at the front on the side, and a machine gun at the rear on the side. As we can see, it is apparently firing the cannon in the area where the machine gun should be, and the front structure of the tank, in the rear of the tank, has shapes that it shouldn't have.

And finally, in the last one, just look at the position of the chargers, the shape of the gas mask, the hands—many inconsistencies, regardless of historical context.

Is this promotional video for the new The Strokes album AI? The perfume spray looks really suspicious.

The Strokes made a promotional video for their new album and there's a discussion if this is AI or not. I think the biggest offender is the spray from the perfume, but I've also seen people say they have perfume with an atomizer that acts like that. I think the woman's ear maybe looks a little off when she moves? Other than that I don't see any more obvious signs. At first glance it really looks AI, but maybe I'm convincing myself it's not, so I'm really curious what y'all think.
