Recently i moved from a European country to the UAE. I have not updated the residency in my IBKR yet and plan on doing that soon.
What can i expect? Is this simply an address update or will they force me to close my account and open a new account in their UAE branche?

Just wanted to share my experience. I had horrible stick drift in both controllers and before following the scary instructions that involve disassembling the controllers and maybe even replacing the little sticks I simply bought WD40 contract cleaner. sprayed it liberally in/around the sticks, waited 10 minutes and they are as new.. this was about a month ago and they are still solid.

8+ years user here, paid plan. Use Revolut basically for everything.
I became a resident of the UAE (specifically Dubai) last year and up till now i have not updated my residency in my Revolut account out of fear of closure of my account. It is still set to my EU (mailing) address.
I know Revolut is working on allowing residents of the UAE and as far as i know this is expected to happen this year, but i am still worried about the situation.
Any advice/insight? I obviously don't want to ask support directly.
