At this point, I’m really only doing Uber for enough points to keep my scholarship. I’m so over the $5 for 24 mi offers and rude customers.

The last time I worked, I got a drug store shopping order. It was 5 items of candy and a tv dinner. A pack of Lifesavers was out of stock, I also asked an employee who confirmed the same. I messaged the customer for a replacement and he said “that’s suspicious… in my entire time on Uber this has never happened. Actually look for it.” I’m so sorry the candy gods let you down tonight. I really had to think about all the money Ubers paying for before I replied “I’m sorry, is there anything else you’d like?” He then said I should put everything back and for me to cancel. I let him know I was putting items back, if he’d cancel. He waited two min and then said it’s fine, he’ll still take it. It was a $5 order… nope, support canceled for me.

I’ve also had someone over explain what a pasta strainer is… he said “a coriander” “the bowl with holes for pasta“ “do you understand” etc… I never asked him, he just randomly messaged me. wtf is going on.

These stations are pushing it too far. Previously, 5hr blocks had up to 49 packages and I’d usually have 30+ min of wiggle room depending on how far the first stop was. Now, 5hr blocks have been turned into 4hr blocks. I can’t get them done in time. I’m efficient, don’t mess around and want to be done asap. Today I had a 4hr but the parking lot line wrapped around the building and you have to go inside to scan your ID. I had to park in employee spaces, even though I arrived 10 min early. It was 47 packages and security doesn’t allow carts to leave the enclosed parking lot so I had to get into the line anyway — reducing the time I had left.

I worked 35 min past my time and still had 8 packages left because of rush hour traffic, apartment delays… I signed up for this amount of time because that worked for me and I have finals to study for, but they’re taking it too far. Support said they’ll look into it for extra compensation but I can still get dinged for not delivering all of them. So I’m supposed to pay $5/gal for gas and work for free. HA this should be a class action lawsuit.
