Broken cast iron pipe

1960 pipe in the bathroom is leaking. some mold in the linen closet. Got fans in to dry. Limited insurance because Florida. I will replace that pipe. Shower pan was done in 2007 and underneath pipes to meter were done in 2014. Should I look at repiping rest of house now? No plans to move.

I am having my roof replaced, so I will need to remove and replace my porch roof (19x10 ish), along with the gutters, some old window awnings and a shed. Do businesses pick up scrap metal but also pay for it, or is that an unreasonable ask? Collectors drive by every month during bulk pickup, but I could use a little extra cash. I am in so Florida

Contract Wording: GAF Direct Deck

Remove existing pitched roof to a clean workable surface. Dispose all debris in dump vehicles provided by

 Install GAF Stormguard Leak Barrier direct to deck. Price based on tear off of 1 roof layer. If

additional roof layers are discovered during tear off an additional cost of $0.60 per square foot will incur to remove

and dispose of. Provide and install new metal gusset plates (hurricane clips) at each truss-to-wall connection along

the eave perimeters of the shingle roof areas. Scope includes fastening with approved tap-on screws, replacement

of deteriorated tongue-and-groove wood at eaves as needed to accommodate installation, and all required labor

and materials. Installation to be performed in accordance with applicable Florida Building Code requirements.

Contract Wording: Lumber Included

Contract includes the following lumber: 100 FEET OF T&G DECKING. 60 ft of 1x10 pine fascia.

All other damaged or rotten lumber will be removed and installed per attached lumber schedule.

2 Set up property protection around home. This includes but is not limited to tarping driveway, covering pools,  protecting landscaping, and covering a/c units and pool pumps with plywood. 

3 To properly replace your roof and replace rotten fascia boards, the gutters may need to be removed. We will  remove and dispose of gutters. The cost of new gutters is not included in this proposal. 

4 Remove the existing roof system to a clean, workable surface and dispose of all debris. The proposal includes all  disposal fees.  uses Dump Trucks opposed to roll off containers and we try to recycle if  possible. 

5 The proposal includes a pre-permit inspection of the roof to wall connection for structures valued over $300K  according to the County Property Appraisers. Structures that do not meet the minimum code may require upgrades.  Please ask your roof specialist for details and pricing. 

6 Replace rotted or damaged lumber. Proposal includes (5) sheets of standard plywood or 100 linear feet of  standard decking. Additional plywood will be replaced at $ 100.00 per sheet ($3.12 per sq. ft.) or $ 5.00 per foot  for standard decking installed. 

7 The proposal includes replacing 50 linear feet of rotten or damaged fascia board. 1x2 firing strips will be  replaced or installed as needed at no charge. 

8 Re-nail existing decking using 2-1/2” 8-D ring shanked nails per revised Florida Building Code. SLOPE ROOF 

9 Install one layer of GAF StormGuard Rubberized self-adhered leak barrier using the Direct to Deck Application. NOTE: Direct to Deck application qualifies for a Secondary Water Resistance (SWR) Barrier.
