I have a question?
I hardly ever go to the scrapyard maybe once or twice in the last five years but recently I had a friend of mine that works in HVAC ask me to clear out his backyard which had about eight units old but complete units about 15 air handlers! So I loaded them all up took him to the scrapyard. They paid me $847.26 but they only gave me $87 in cash and told me they would send me a check in the mail. Is this normal Is there something I did

What is this worth?
what is this metal and what is it worth?
several hundred feet of it available.

Ballasts worth scrap?
Or do they have pcb? I can’t find it on google.

Aspiring Scrapper wants to know if rusted metal will be accepted.
Living near construction, there’s a lot of this stuff around.

Remove copper wrapped around steel wire
I have a bunch of old piano wire. The steel wire is wrapped with copper wire. Any tips on removing the copper wire? I assume using a drill and attaching the wire to something that spins? Any links to a "how to" would be appreciated.

Getting the most return
I'm a low voltage technician and I do a lot of copper cat6 and cat6a terminations leading to a lot of the ends being collected. For example, I spent the last week working in a closet and collected this much, only a few pounds but it's free for me and comes from work. I'm sure it isn't worth cutting the jacket off to get to the clear copper because it would take far too much time. does anyone know an efficient way of getting the most return from the scrap yard? please and thank you

Weird metal object I found in scrap — any idea?
Is this pewter?
On the hunt for some tin and found this plate at a local thrift store. Feels quite dense and heavy but easily bends and scratches. Non magnetic.

Would this be copper wire?
It's hard to read what's printed on the insulation.

Inverter/Motor Thing. Worth opening up or just chuck in the pile of motors or transformers?

Help me fairly price a copper pipe treasure trove!
Based in Southeast Alaska, and bought a house a few months ago. The place is a mess of half finished projects, and today while cleaning out the rafters of the wood shed I came across a treasure trove of old copper pipe, as well as a couple pieces off a broken water tank also buried in the wood shed.
A friend gave me the number of a local scrapper, and I'm just looking to figure out what this is reasonably worth. Not looking to make a bunch of money here, but don't want to give something valuable away for free.
Thanks for any and all input!

Old Industrial Motor Question
Found this old industrial motor in a shed on our property we purchased. Is it worth it to break it down?
